There seems to be a superstitious belief that black is meant for sad occasion and thus, that might be how people won't really like black. Some people associate wearing black with death because it's usually the color of mourning. My Mom is very superstitious so she forbids me to wear black often because like what you said, it's unlucky. However, I don't go with that. I like wearing black because it's also the color of elegance, and it makes me look slimmer.. :P I also love designer clothes, and for the last year or two they have been wholeheartedly embarrassing black for a majority of the clothing. I'm not a superstitious person, but I have found that colour does have an impact on ones mood.
