Hi...! for me i do not have sleepers for the visitors and i won't let them in the house with their shoes on. as everyone walks bare foot in my house. The guests know that they have to leave their outside the house or at the doorway on the shoe rack. if u have the problem of asking them to remove thier shoes then i guess u should gather all the shoes and put them outside the door to let them know that no shoes are allowed. lol. Happy mylotting and have a nice day....hope u can solve the problem soon..^^ [chuanton]
Hi, i don t have a problem, usual who come, know me very well, and know how much i am for a clean home, i like stay lay down when i watch to tv, and i can t make this if somebody enter with shoes in my house....and never i don t enter in others house with shoes, i respect theirs househappy [icesmile]
Hi icesmile, this is interesting as I'm not really sure what sleepers are, obviously you are offering some form of alternative foot wear but what is it? Now I don't have this problem with shoes in the house as I don't have any carpets down, the house is completely tiled. I do expect people to remove them though if it it has been raining hard and they have inevitably got the local red mud on their shoes as it is murder to remove from the tiles. I would like to be barefoot in the house in summer but am always wary that something nasty may have wandered in and I might inadvertently stand on it, I've only actually had a large centipede come inside once but it has put me off the shoeless state so in summer I wear sandals. [thea09]
I think what icesmile means is "slippers". [Elaine77]
I like to wear something atleast at home either sleepers or shoes because I do not like to walk barefooted however my dad always ask me to walk barefooted on the grass as it is good for health. [med889]
i know how much is healthy to walk barefoot on the grass, i make this almost every day for few minutes, your father is smart [icesmile]
my carpet is only about a year old and i don't want it completely ruined so i make people take their shoes off. now if i could just teach my dogs to wipe their feet better, i 'd be really happy. my family and friends have been very understanding and don't argue with any more about having to walk around the house with no shoes on. [skyhss]
Hi, i am agree with you, i like to keep my house clean, and for this i buy few pair of sleppers to give who come in my house.happy [icesmile]
I like to go barefooted when inside the house.I feel so comfortable with it. However, there are a lot of people who use slippers at home. I think it depends on family culture. As for the visitors, I offer then slippers everytime they come inside our house and gladly they remove their shoes. But I do respect whichever is there preference. Thank you. Happy mylotting! [chrissa808]
I like to walk barefooted too, but not all the time, i prefear different sleppers.happy [icesmile]
When I am home, I want to feel comfortable that is why I prefer to wear sleepers. But then with regard to visitors, I find it ok if they wear shoes inside the house. If the shoes are dirty, we have a rag right in front of the door for them to wipe before coming inside the house. [jules67]
Me too, sleepers for me is the best choice..happy [icesmile]
I like to go outside and inside without shoes. Yep I rather go barefoot unless I go out then do wear shoes and I do around here as well. Just most of the time I am without. As far as guests or being a guest in someone's home I do make sure that if they would like shoes removed, I sometimes just do it out of habit. Shows respect for the home you are about to enter. In our home, well will just say it wouldn't matter if you left your shoes on or not. The floors are in bad shape and the landlord has no intention of fixing them either. Can't afford to buy rugs to cover the problems either. So as with other problems going on here I don't invite people over much at all. Unless they know the situation here. [Youreyes4Today]
i don t enter in my house with shoes, or in others house, just if is a party or a special day, i will bring with me other shoes, to change what i wear in the streethappy [icesmile]
Hi friend, I will allow the visitor to come into my house with bare foot. They automatically leave their sleepers outside while entering into my house.I will not allow even my family member to use sleepers to roam inside the house. Have a nice day [sudhajosyula50]
hi, i don t let them to enter with shoes in my house...angry...all know me, and i offer few sleppers pair, who i keep just for visitors [icesmile]
Around my house and most of my familys houses I take my shoes off and go barefoot. Its not because they dont WANT shoes in their house, its just more comfortable and most of them go shoeless as well. We are taking the carpet out of our house and will have wood floors. Even with our carpet it never mattered to me if people kept their shoes on or took them off. I did have one friend who wanted you to take your shoes off before you came in her house, and it was really annoying for me when I had on my tennis shoes, to have to untie them, and then put them back on and tie them again when I was ready to leave. Not as annoying if I was wearing step ins. [nonersays]
i like walk barefoot too, but in bath or in the kitchen i don t have carpet, and is very cold, is ceramic,...so, i need wear sleppers..happy [icesmile]
I wear sleepers at home. My guests remove their shoes with out being told. meapas. [meapas]
Yes I am lucky on that count. meapas. [meapas]
Well Im usually barefoot at home unless my feet get cold, I put on some socks or slippers. As for letting guest wear there shoes on my carpet, I dont mind. I have a rug at my doorway that people can whipe there shoes on it the need to. My aunt and uncle however dont allow shoes on there carpet. They have a very light shade and ask people to take there shoes off when entering there home. [renemouche]
they are right, if want to keep house clean, is better to wear house sleppers.happy [icesmile]
hello icesmile, i wear slippers in the house but if visitors come i don't provide slippers for them to wear. i believe it's unhygenic to wear footwear that has been worn by another person and i'd refuse to wear slippers offered to me by someone else. all i ask is that they clean their shoes before entering the house or if their shoes are wet they are asked to remove them. [TheModfather]
i'd use disposable slippers, that's a good idea. i always take my shoes off in other people's houses. my feet don't smell so i'm safe to do so :) [TheModfather]
hi,everyone in my home take off the shoes and wear sleepers.none of my family membrs like to wear shoes because even our feet needs some fresh air.the moment i come from outside my first step is always to take out my shoes and wear my sleepers and be free.we at our home do have extra sleepers so that if guests come to our place they can wear them and move here in there.at my home my parents donot like anyone of us to wear shoes and go here and there in the house. [henahuda]
here too, same situation...happy [icesmile]
In my country, we don't wear our shoes to walk around inside the house. Some wear slippers, some just walk barefoot. When visiting others, we always take off our shoes. It is considered rude to not take off your shoes when visiting. It is a custom in our country. Imagine what you stepped on outside, and if you come into our home wearing what you're wearing outside, then our house will become dirty. [chi2nasrin]
Hi, here too, if people have good sense. and respect his house and other house toohappy [icesmile]
I pretty much am always barefoot when I am at home and I don't make visitors take shoes off or have slippers for them to put on.....it doesn't bother me so much because we have wood Flooring so dirt can be swept or wiped up pretty easily. [frankiecesca]
hi i like to walk barefoot too, but in the bath or kitchen i can t i have a kind of Ceramics there, and i can catch cold very easyhappy [icesmile]
thats weird. and the picture below i never heard of sleepers. i heard of slippers thats why i kind of got confused for a second. and i wear socks to bed and if that day i know where my slippers is i wear socks and my slippers. i will be extra cozy and no i don't have sleepers for my visitors i see that as being a little dirty. but my grandma does when i go over when i'm sick she lets me where her slippers/sleepers. [justbeingtiffany]
ok, i understand your mother tongue is English, i don t like criticism...thumbdown [icesmile]
It is the tradition in my wife's home country to remove your shoes and leave them outside before entering a building. I told her when she came to Europe that in the apartment block in which we lived, someone else would wander off with the shoes if she did that. So now shoes are removed just inside the door, and are immediately replaced with carpet slippers. We now live in a different apartment block with much more reliable neighbours, but the tradition is now well established. [astonysh]
Buddhist from Thailand! [astonysh]
Some times my visitors wants to use their shoes entering our house, even up to the comfort room, in means of hurry time, and sometimes i use to give her\him a slippers because we have many slippers at home and protect the carpet that later days, but now we don't even put carpet on the floor, because so much dirt come on it we prefer tiles on the floor, to look more elegant, and easy to clean,or even leave my visitors barefooted. [Preciousgem]
Bare feet what better way to find out how clean the floors really are, I have two children no I'm not the mom nor am I Mr.Mom I just like to keep a clean house for the crawling one and the one that's at the rolling on the floor stage. [dezter21]
After living Thailand for eleven years, where everybody takes off their shoes, I feel obliged to remove my shoes. However, in my own home I have a pair of sandals yhay I always wear. These have a raised insole which reduces the pain on my ankles when I walk. My Thai wife wears slippers as it's much colder than where we lived in Thailand. [mipen2006]
I never wear shoes in my house, but I always wear flip flops. They protect my feet and give me some comfort while running and walking in my house. My mother really hates the dirty house. Every time we come into my house, we have to take off our shoes. She likes a clean house though. [minhminh0604]
god morning icesmile, this time of the year, summertime, I do not use any shoes inside, I let my feets be without anything becouse I feel feets are god being naked. I do not even wear socks this time of the year. I also like to use leggins, short leggins that gives the body to breath after a long winter with lots of clothing on. [anetteh]
I dont have sleepers for visitors.. In our custom in my country..visitors often take off their shoes...but it does not mean we are afraid the carpet dirty or else..just the custom.. But if there are visitors who does not take off theirs..it's not make any problem with us..It just fine...does not reduce the respect to our guests... [shimanaja]
No dear, I feel comfortable in sleepers only while at home.. it is more relax [kakapila]
after coming back from office i keep my shoes or sandals out of room and wear sleepers at home it is comfortable even i have seen some of people dont wera wear sleepers at home they walk barefoot but i dont like it do u like it??????????? [jassi1]
Like you i like to wear sleeper at home . i also go for a walk with the sleepers. We have sleepers for vistors but we don't ask visitor to change shoes when they come . i can accept this . It's up to them whether they want to change . But if i drop at others i will take my shoes off just for politeness. [grace118224]
Me, I wear my bedroom slippers often or I am barefoot like my daughter. I can't wear shoes of this hot Philippine weather. Whenever I have visitor(s) I let them wear my guest slippers readily available anytime. I don't want my guests to take their foot-gears in. I worry about where did they walked through or shall we say shoes, slippers, flip-flops, step-ins are among our dirtiest possessions that may have entered into the dirtiest surfaces. That I don't want to touch my floor. At home I make sure that when I mop my floor daily I pour on a little amount of antibacs and antivirals. When you do the cleaning you feel awe about the area you are cleaning always. I don't know if I already have an OC when it comes to cleanliness. :D [Kofficup]
It is very uncomfortable to wear shoes at home. Of course it would be very easy on your feeling if you wear only slippers and have your feet rest on your stay in the home. It is very common here to have some slippers at home and you will only wear shoes when we go outside the house. [kaguvkov]
i am comfortable wearing slippers at home hehe and i want my visitors to take their shoes off, so that they won't bring dirt inside my house... then i'll provide them with comfortable slippers=) [cmnavarro]
if i have to i wear sandals, but while at home i prefer to wear socks to walk around, i don't like wearing shoes... [saraines]
I usually wear socks or go barefoot in the summertime. During the winter time I usually wear slippers to keep my feet warm. I just like to be warm so I have to have something on my feet [nrn2003]
Visitors in my house can wear shoes, we certainly do! Our home is not that clean on the floors, we have a dog that comes inside too! I guess if we did not wear shoes inside or have a pet in there, that it would be clean enough to nearly eat off the floor!! :-) [RawBill1]
In Asia, it's a common thing to take off your shoes before entering the house and walking in bare foot. So I usually bare foot and the visitors in my house also do the same. I don't like if they wear shoes to my house, it makes the floor dirty, unless if there is a dinner which invited many guests, I allow them to wear shoes. [sophisticated_boy]
Slippers only! I want to feel comfortable and I want my feet to relax so I prefer wearing slippers at home. And besides, this is the only time that I have the right to wear slippers because most of the time I am in the office and we are not allowed to wear slippers there. Happy MyLotting! [CMTS_87]
hi icesmile, As my house is a small one and I have no carpets there, it's allowed to enter my house with your shoe on, and it's pretty easy to do the cleaning after my guests leaves. But when I myself alone at home with no guests, I usually change my slippers on and relex as most of my shoes are high heels. [Elaine77]
It's funny how different things are called in different countries....here in America what you call sleepers would be more like slippers or flip flops--anyway, I always walk barefoot around my apt...can't stand to wear shoes at home. As soon as I come home from being outside I take my shoes off first thing. As for visitors, I allow them to wear their shoes in my place and since I don't have carpeting but wood floors there's minimum "dirt"--but then I clean my floors at least once a week [pyewacket]
No we don't wear shoes at home, and actually neither we do wear sleepers except in winters.happy Actually in our tradition its quite normal to remove the shoes or sandals outside before entering the house. And this is known to most of the people, so mostly there's no problem. But yep sometimes some people are so ignorant and illmannered(specially first time visitors or one time visitors), that they do come in without removing their footwear. Sometimes due to courtsey i just bear them, but mostly i will slowly point them out as they entre..happy [nehaagra]
I have really comfortable shoes, and I just keep them on when I get home. They are never dirty, because the sidewalks here in Guelph are very very clean, so I don't track dirt from the outside, into the house. The floors stay clean. My husband also keeps his shoes on. [danishcanadian]
It's already become a habit in my family to use sleepers in house. From my grandma, auntie, my mom and me, we always wear sleepers.. For guest, luckily all guest that come in my house will take off their shoes without asked by us. It's already tradition, not polite if you still use your shoes when entering people's house.. [ChrysanTflower]
No we dont have slippers for visitors.Nor do we allow shoes to be worn in the house. We all wear slippers unless its very warm, then we just go barefoot. [janey72]
