In my country, it is hot and humid through out the year. I don't like to wear socks at all, even I am wearing a pair of sneakers or spot shoes. But I was used to wear socks when in the school days. It was just to obey the school rules.
I find my legs so uncomfortable while wearing a pair of socks, bet it a thin layer of socks or even a thick socks.
I know in some winter season, people must have wearing socks to keep their feet warm. Anywhere, please share you like to wear socks or not? Or you force to wear socks because of the weather?

It depends on. If I wear sandals, be sure I won't wear any kinds of socks. However, if I wear sneakers, high heels and shoes, I will wear socks. Otherwise I think it will look ugly. I love China [youless]

I don't like to wear socks either. India is hot and humid too, throughout the year and its only in winter that socks are comfortable. Actually socks are not part of our traditional attire, Indians never wore socks but the British style of dressing was imposed during 200 years of colonial rule. The entire dress code of shirts and trousers with socks and shoes are not congenial to Indian climate our loose and cotton attire was best suited for our climate but we think of that as very cheap and rural, something not suitable for everyday wear. Now of course I don't wear socks at all but I had to wear them at school and I really feel sorry for the men who have to wear socks throughout the day in this heat. [sudiptacallingu]
Hi, vingyan. happy I don't like to wear socks either. However, it depends on the situation. I do not wear socks at home unless i have cold feet. My husband used to wear socks at home because he said he did not want to have a rough skin like me. rolleyes But now, seems like he gets influenced by me and seldom wears the socks at home anymore. If i am only on an AC bus and train wherein the travel time is 9 to 12 hours. I really wear socks because I do feel cold. But since I am wearing a sandal, I do have to take that sock inside my baggage and wear it later on. It feels warm and cozy whenever I wear my sock during that long travel time. We do usually sleep and sometimes, when we travel in the morning, we sight see the place since I am always on the window seat. About the weather, well I don't need to wear socks. This is a place were I don't see snow or similar, so I just feel warm inside the house, and no need for a heater too. Happy Mylotting. [strawberrychocodahi]

Hello vingyan06, I for one MUST wear socks no matter what the situation is. If it is hot and humid the more I need to wear socks. Socks are good to absorb sweat. Do you know our soles have most sweat glands and produces plentiful sweats? What will happen to them if there are no socks to absorb them? Wont it cause your snickers to smell? I wear socks to sleep too. Different from winter countries where they wear wool socks, here in humid countries, I wear cotton socks. It really keeps me comfortable. [submerryn]

I always wear shorts if i'm wearing trousers or jeans. if im wearing trainers (sports shoes) i wear very short socks which don't show. when i wear sandals i don't wear socks at all. during the winter i wear thicker, woolen socks to keep my feet warm, in the summer i wear thin cotton socks. I would still wear socks, but I prefer to wear ankle socks that are made of 100% cotton. They are still quite comfortable despite the hot tropical weather. But sometimes I tend to wear my sport shoes out without wearing socks. It depends on whether I need extra protection for my feet. [naka75]
I don't like to wear sock but with certain shoes you do have to wear socks. I prefer to have my feet breathe. I noticed something. When I feel sick. Dear vingyan, I Think you should wear socks. The reason is since your place is so hot and humid, you will have a lot of foot sweat. This will make the skin of your feet soft. Now the soft skin rubbing against the sneaker will give you chaffing and blisters which can get infected, It is very uncomfortable, really. Over a period of time you may also develop corns on the soles of your feet. This also happens because of rubbing and is very painful. I think you should wear sweat absorbent socks and dust the insides of the shoe with a good disinfectant powder. I love wearing socks no matter what. Even in hott weather I wear socks but only at night because I don't like my feet to touch. But other than that I love wearing socks. I don't want to wear socks because after I get home, I always need to wet my feet, I always need to wash it, for whatever reason. I want my feet washed with water every time I go to the CR, and we don't have warm water all the time, so if I wash them then with cold water, I can have those painful veins, even varicose. Hi vingyan, it depends on what shoes I put on. I would wear socks only if putting on sneaker or sport shoes. When having outdoor activities like jogging, playing badminton, long distance walk, our feet would sweat easily. Socks would help to absorb the disgusting sweat. I like the cotton socks. The water absorption of it is quite strong They could keep our feet and the inner part of the shoes dry all the time It's more hygienic to change the socks after every use. Sometimes he left his socks at the walkway..my mum will tell him off; "J...why you left your 'salted fish' at the middle of the walk way?" Then he will answered ' hehehe, 'salted fish' - ??!!" I am very weird I have serious issues with feet ha ha. I do not like people looking at or touching mine, nor do I like anything to touch or see anyone elses! I almost always wear socks. Funny you ask this question... today I discovered that my feet have a tan line where my sandles sit on my feet. I had no idea that I wore my flip flops enough to get a tan line, but now that I think about it, I wear my flip flops almost every day in the summer.
