Or would you like wearing clothes of your own choice when going to work or school?
I personally prefer wearing a uniform when going to school or work because that way I don't have to choose what to wear everyday. Another reason is I don't have a lot of clothes to wear. So I would be wearing my clothes over and over, week after week (just like uniforms, lol)
Do you have a lot of clothes to wear? Do you like the process of choosing what to wear? Do you like wearing a uniform?

I think uniforms are excellent - you don't have to worry about what to wear, and everyone's wearing the same thing. Makes it nice and easy! [guybrush]
that's one thing I like about wearing a uniform. I don't have to worry what to wear. I don't really like thinking of what to wear for the next day so uniform really saves me some time. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
i was ahairdresser & when i first got out of school we had to wear uniforms. i had rather wear my own clother . guess the main thing to was lol i never have liked being told what to do & not have a choice. [ANTIQUELADY]
I guess that is why a lot of people don't like wearing uniforms. They don't like being told what to do. People like you likes to have your own identity and really like to take control of yourselves. I think people like you have a strong personality. have a nice day!happy [richiem]
Same as you. I dont have that much clothes. So I will wear the same clothes over and over again. I like uniforms too, because I dont have to think of what to wear and I will not think about it, like does it look good or something. ALso because of uniforms, I simply do not have any other choice, so I like it. [trishasantos]
Uniforms makes the choosing of clothes a lot easier because there isn't really a choice. But I can say that our uniforms are not that dull and so I can bear with it wearing it the whole day. have a nice day!happy [richiem]
Oddly enough, I really prefer wearing a uniform than having to wear different sets of clothes one after another, be it going to school or perhaps going to work. My arsenal of clothes aren't really that many and thinking about a pile of laundry doesn't seem to be a good idea at all. Then again, I would always think that with uniforms, others can easily associate me to what I do or what my position is in society like, as you have mentioned, a student or an employee. So even with uniforms, we can still wear it differently or alter it a bit to still express uniqueness and our individuality. (^_^ ) [ratyz5]
Yeah, accessories really help out a lot (^_^ ) Have a nice day too! [ratyz5]
When I was in school thankfully we did not have to wear uniforms because I would have hated wearing uniforms to school, because it takes away from people being able to express themselves in my opinion, when I worked at Arby's I had to wear a uniform but it did not bother me too much since they gave me crappy hours and I was barely ever at work,I do not have a whole lot of clothes, but I am happy with what I have, and I like choosing what I wear, instead of being told what to wear. [hellcowboy]
For me, being told what to wear makes it easier. This is because I don't like choosing what to wear so much and I don't really have much to choose from. there are still times when I can wear my own clothes (on weekends) and I don't worry much about not expressing my own identity. have a nice day!happy [richiem]
At my job we are required to wear uniforms they are called scrubs I have many sets but can mix and match them so it dont feel like I am wearing the same thing all the time. I have three closets full of clothes but I have my favorites and tend to wear them mostly. Yes I like wearing the scrubs to work because sometime they get ruin and that way my clothes dont. You have a great night. [bfarrier1]
I am assuming you work for a hospital. I like watching Grey's Anatomy and I don't see any problem wearing those scrubs. I think wearing those scrubs are cool. And it's cooler that you have many sets of it to mix and match. have a nice day!happy [richiem]
I had to wear uniforms when i was in highschool. It was the first public school in my area to get uniforms. They were bad a first but i guess it was ok because you don't have to think about what to wear when you get up in the morning. But it also got rid of the uniqueness of others and made everybody the same and solider like. No colours no excentric dressings. It got tired and boring after a few weeks. [Darkabyss]
Uniforms can be boring sometimes but for me uniforms are helpful because with them, I don't really have to take time choosing what clothes to wear. And it is an excuse for wearing the same thing over and over. We have a different uniform for every day of the week so our uniform in our work is not that really boring. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
i liked wearing a uniform to work and school. i didnt have to choose what to wear, make sure it matches or its right for the job or at school, i knew what i had to wear and that was it, it made life easier [dementia88]
It really made life easier. I remember when we have summer classes when I was in college that we don't have uniform, it usually takes time to think of what clothes to wear. I really like wearing uniforms that wearing my own clothes. have a nice day!happy [richiem]
need to follow school or work uniforms and there are always free day where i can wear what so i have to obey the rules that is implemented [skywolfcel]
We have different uniforms for each day from mondays to thursday and Friday is our free day or wash day wherein we can wear what we want. So I don't get bored wearing uniforms. I think it is much easier with uniforms. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
i like wearing uniform with uniform you do not have to choosing what to wear. [zykirababy]
zykirababy, I also think wearing a uniform really helps because I don't have to worry what clothes to wear. It let's me focus on what is in my text books and not what color is "just so in" this month.I go to school to learn and it just makes things simpler to wear a uniform. vbleble, I think it would be good to implement uniforms in schools. khatri_50, you are right. students really don't have to worry about their clothes. What they have to worry about is their studies. but I guess the clothes people wear somehow shows their personality. I don't think it is necessary for school students, but I like to see actors and musicians wear something more creative than a uniform. I think it helps them express their personality and the style of the music. Have a nice day to all of you!happy [richiem]
I know that uniforms can have a plus side to them- usually they are provided by your work or school and you don't have to dirty your own clothes. But i personally don't like wearing uniforms. I am the type of person who likes to be different, therefore i don't like people running around in the same clothes as me. [MissGia]
I like wearing uniforms because I don't have to dirty my own clothes. And I don't have that much clothes to wear. I don't being different or unique. I am not really a person who wants to be noticed in a crowd. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
We don't have a uniform in our school. I have to worry everyday on what to wear. I don't have loads of clothes and that is much to worry about. Good thing that poverty is not an issue in our school. Almost all the students wear org shirts and our school trademark is slippers paired with jeans and shirt. But how I wish we have a uniform because we look like out of school youths..hehe.. If we have a uniform I don't have to worry much. I really don't understand why some students does not want to have school uniforms. God Bless. [arcenal]
I also don't have a lot of clothes that is why I like wearing uniforms. We do have uniforms in school so I had no problem with it. But when summer classes came, I have to worry again on what clothes to wear. have a nice day!happy [richiem]
Yes and no. It is nice never having to figure out what to wear. But I have worked places where I had to buy my shirts and when you quit you are stuck with the shirts. [Ruthep]
That's the bad side about. You end up paying for shirts you would not really wear at all. So I guess you should be a regular in a work first before they impose the uniform policy on you. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
No I dont like wearing it at all.. how about you?? [blackhole]
because of the reason what you told. I always wanted to chose everything on my own. [blackhole]
I really do not like wearing a uniform... because base on experience... a uniform is always uncomfortable... it is not design to give comfort to the wearer... but designed to project a certain image for the company... so i prefer to just wear my own clothes... i can always mix and match when i run out of something new to wear... [aseretdd]
Our uniforms are comfortable. We have the right to have it cut to our fit so it would be comfortable for us. And also, we have a different color of uniform for each day so it is not really boring. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
I prefer to wear my own clothes rather than wearing uniform because i'm much more comfortable with it.. hehe =D PLus during my schooling of 12 yrs and army of 2.5yrs, i'v been in uniform for a toal of 14.5 yrs, which is more than half of my life now, and thus i will crave for being in my own clothes now htan wearing a uniform once again.. haha [kun2349]
that would be a valid reason why you would prefer your own clothes rather than uniforms. In my case, I am comfortable with uniforms. We are allowed to have it made to own perfect fit. And wearing it doesn't really bother me. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
Never! I hate uniform. There is simply a humiliation to force everyone to wear uniform. Escepially when they are ugly and uncomfortable. [dorothy822]
I am fortunate that our uniform is not ugly and uncomfortable. So it doesn't really bother me to wear our uniform. I don't really see it as a humiliation. I am not forced with it and I think it is better for me to wear a uniform because in that way I don't have to choose what clothes to wear. have a nice day!happy [richiem]
ALthough I don't really like to wear a uniform, I feel that sometimes it would be a good choice. Well other than for the obvious reasons - to protect clothes, to identify a specific company, etc. SOmetimes it takes away the burden of having to think what to wear, sometimes just brings a sense of equality specially in certain places, and sometimes it's just cute:) I used to like to choose what to wear each day, lately it's more "ok what can I use that doesn't take long to put together? "LOL [arkaf61]
It is also the case with me. When I am not in uniform, I just choose those clothes which are easy to wear and put on. I don't really like taking much time thinking of what to wear and how to wear them. have a nice day!happy [richiem]
I don't particularly like wearing one, no. But I do think that they are very important for schools. Having a uniform rather than allowing kids to dress in whatever they like oputs all students on an equal footing to some point. When the focus is on what designer you are wearing, the kids that can't afford designer clothes may feel left out. No one should be made to feel bad because they can not afford expensive clothes. Kids can be really, really harsh as we all know and without a uniform the "rich" kids and the "poor" kids would be fairly obvious becasue all the kids with more money wiuyld be wearing all the latest gear and the ones without the money would not be. At least if they all have to dress the same situations like this are reduced. I am pretty boring when it comes to dressinf for work. I have a few suits and a few shirts and pants etc and I pretty much just rotate them! lol. [James72]
that is a good reason on why school should impose uniforms. Students should not really judge people based on what they wear but it is usually the case because they are teenagers and they want to express some kind of identity or personality. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
I hate the idea of wearing a uniform. I do have a variety of clothes and would not like to take up a job where I had to wear a uniform everyday. [mayka123]
good for you to have a variety of clothes. Maybe if I have some more clothes I would not worry to much and perhaps I would choose not to wear a uniform too. But it is compulsory for us now. Have a nice day!happy [richiem]
It's fine with me. In work, well we are required to wear formal attire. In my case, I should wear white uniform. But in School? During my college year, it gives me a hard time wearing white uniform. It's hard to wash it and I am only riding jeeps going to school. So when I got home, my uniform is no longer white.lol. [mialei23]
Absolutely yes! I love wearing uniform when going to work. Because wearing uniform makes you look good and more professional even if your work is just a janitor. Wearing a uniform makes you respectful by others. Because when your not wearing uniform in going into your respective works, people seems looking you just a simple kind of person and thinking that you don't have a wok or you doesn't go to school. And speaking of uniforms, our new uniforms in our office are approved by our big bosses and hopefully by next month we can wear them and it makes me feel excited on it. [hindichinese]
I completely agree. [Magene]
hi there! Well, I have four sets of uniforms to wear for monday to thursday. Wearing uniforms may seem a bore as I get to wear them regularly but it sure does have more advantages than disadvantages, practicality and economically speaking that is. Fridays allows us to dress down, shirts, denims, sneakers and all. That way, we feel more relaxed unlike when we are in uniform as we tend to be more formal. [patchmypal]
I wear a uniform when I don't have anymore ordinary clothes to wear. My uniform which the seamstress made just doesn't fit anymore as I have grown slimmer and lost a ton of weight (smiles). Blame it on the reduced intake of carboydrate. But Uniforms are fine, as long as they're decent and comfortbale. I don't have any complaints using them. [Jenaisle]
Sometimes when I'm at a loss as to choosing my clothes to wear, I wish we have uniforms instead. Just imagine remembering whether you've worn this dress or blouse or jacket last week before, or what you wore the last week!surrender. However, sometimes uniforms could be boring...having your own clothes is an identity! I've quite a number of mix-n-match; so I 've worked on a list, on what I plan to wear. Now, the only thing, is to make sure, I remember to update the list lol [lazeebee]
I would like to have my personal uniform. That will solve a lot of problems. I can have a few pairs. Once people accept me in my personal uniform they will not worry about my dress as long as it is neat and clean. It will free from worrying a lot about dresses, keeping them clean etc etc. . [daffodil1949]
Hello richiem, yeah i'd prefer a uniform, they're much cheaper, and i don't need to worry about what i will wear tomorrow. [davidlee7]
I feel that a Uniform brings equality amongst all members of a common group whether you are rich or poor, intelligent or average, introvert or extrovert. In school I loved wearing uniform as it gave me a feeling of oneness amongst my school friends. Also it represented my school which I was and am so proud of. Uniform in a profession is also important and I personally like it as it brings respect for the job and the position we are in. Also develops in us a sense of us responsibility for the job. [Rintis]
Yeah I like the no brainer of not having to choose what to wear each day, the uniform is good for that, all I have to do is choose my underwear and socks then and of course it is less washing for my wife which she is also happy about! Sometimes I get sick of wearing the same ole same ole but then I think of how much easy it is! [chileman]
I tried wearing uniform way back in elementary and high school. It was nice wearing those uniforms back then. But nowadays that I have grown up, I don't think I would ever wanted to wear them. I am more comfortable with the clothes that I wear these days. [nengs10]
well thats a tough job as you said.. choosing what to wear and what not to wear is really tough!!! the funny thing is that i dont remember what i wore the day before yesterday!!!.. and end up picking up the same dress to wear today!!! coz i put my clothes to was every day!!! so i have to think hard that i am waering the same dress that i wore day before yesterday!!! on the other hand i always wanted to wear colorful dresses.. all the times!! as you said its quite tiring in the morning to stand infront of the wardrobe and stare at each and every dress... i usually spend atleast 15minutes for selecting a dressss! shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh [magna86]
Hmm.. both of them are fine for me.., but if I must choose one, I prefer not to wear uniform, because I like to wear something casual, and a uniform doesn't feel casual for me :) [xcellen]
well... when i was in primary and secondary school, we had to wear uniforms. no just our school, but the whole of singapore. this is because there can be really big difference of our standard of living and therefore some may have really beautiful clothes while others have really wore-out ones. and also, being kids still, and not being able to care that others have feelings too, some may make fun of others just because of the way they dress. we are allowed to wear what we want now, and i think it is better in a sense that it allows us to know what looks good on us and what does not. having uniforms is ok, but only if we know that reason why. if not, some may feel deprived...in a way... i used to hate it... [raclie]
hi richiem, when i studied at school, i definitely prefer wearing uniform. in that time i hadn't create my own money so i don't want to spend my parent's hard earned money just to buy clothes. now in my office, we don't wear uniforms and i am contented with it. it is more comfortable for me because sometimes i need to do office works but other times i will have to work on field. and that's ok to wear anything (as long as nothing lol) because some days i am the only employee in my office happy [sutanhartanto]
I don't know about wearing a uniform, I never have worn one. I do like picking what I'm going to wear and I wear something different everyday, depending on what I feel like wearing that day. I don't have a lot of money to buy clothes either. What I do is on payday every month when I need something I get one or two new things. It doesn't take long to have a number of things in the closet to wear. [moondancer]
Holy no! Lol, I think I hate uniforms. I am someone who values freedom very highly and I can't stand conforming to something... to pretty much anything really. I strive to be different and am proud when I succeed. rasp But when you are in Rome, do as the Romans do... I am sure you have come across this saying. So if you are involved in an organization that requires such a strict dress code, you have no choice but to comply or... leave (or be asked to leave). Then again, having uniforms does have some merits. One would be that what you need to wear has already been chosen for you. There won't be any more need to "find clothes to wear". Cheers! lol [lordwarwizard]
Before I retired from my last job, I wore scrubs. I worked in a pharmacy lab. It made it a lot easier to get dressed in the mornings. I didn't have to think about what to wear, just reached into my closet and pulled out a set and put them on. Now, I wear whatever I feel like wearing since I work at home helping my husband with his accounting and taxes business. [thebohemianheart]
I prefer wearing a uniform mainly because it looks professional and because I don't have a lot of clothes. So that means each day I don't have to think about what to wear. [Shermanator]
it depends on what type of uniform.. because when i was just a student... i personally don't like wearing my school uniform because it's so uncomfortable and i don't like the fabric and color... but my favorite uniform is my duty uniform.. the white one when i go to the hospital. i don't know why but maybe because when i wear that uniform i look so professional and people will look up at me as if i'm someone with a higher position and address me with "ma'am" ^_^ [princesskhym]
i actually don't mind wearing uniform at work if i like the style and cut of our uniform. problem is, i don't like this year's set. to think that all employees were given the task of voting for the uniform that they wanted to wear. ugh! the styles are soooo unwearable for anyone who wants to make a good impression or maintain a good image. [plumfrance]
Yup.But not always.I am in NCC.So when I wear its uniform i feel proud. [shummy]
Before our school implemented uniform for the employees, we usually came in our semi - formal attire and I found this difficult since I have lots of casual dresses and few formal attires so when our school implemented the uniform policy I felt relieved about having to wear the same dress over and over again and constantly buying for a new one. Because of uniforms, I save a lot of money from buying dresses I don't usually wear on ordinary days. [anneshirley]
I wouldn't work for a place that makes you wear a uniform. It would make me feel like I was part of a herd. I love my own clothes. I choose clothes for my moods and my personality. I don't want to look like everyone else. As soon as I was old enough to work, I did. I wanted to have some nice clothes so that I can choose whatever it was that I was in the mood for. I like the freedom to wear whatever I want to. [spiritwolf52]
We don't have any college uniforms here and we don't have uniforms at work either so basicly I can wear allmost anything I like if it's neat and tidy. I do watch what I buy and certain things I wear mostly to work because I feel it looks better, but no real uniforms. It's hard for me to decide as I never had an experience with uniforms, perhaps I would like it but I have no experience to tell from. [cyberfluf]
i'd like to go on work with uniform..less clothes to wash and wear..and the advantage of wearing uniform is that it lessen the hassle of choosing what to wear..right now we don't have uniforms at work so i always think in advance of what to wear everyday.. [angel_of_charm]
I actually like to wear a uniform when I worked and at school. It always made me feel important, especially as I was a care assistant and so the uniform was just like a nurses and it made me feel really good about my job! Plus with wearing a uniform I do not have to worry about what clothes to wear day in day out. [gemini_rose]
yes, I do like to wear uniform, that is in my school days, but not in work. I agree that it was not that problematic in choosing clothes especially if my classes are too early and I am in a hurry. I really prefer to wear uniform in those cases, but in work, I love to wear different clothes everyday, I don't know, but it adds to my confidence and kinda feel more lively if I know that I'm comfortable with the clothes that I am wearing. I also don't have a lot of clothes, actually almost all my clothes are old, but to make it more stylish and trendy, I mix n' match my new and old clothes and add some accessories in it. happy [kylie_quistis]
I feel rather than wasting the time and confusing your mind in choosing what dress to wear what gadgets suits it , instead of this uniform is much better and everybody wears the same, so you need not feel high or low.. you will feel the same and i was more comfortable when i was wearing uniform and now i have to wear coloured clothes and sometimes i love it and everytime im missing my uniform.. [shana123]
Yes I really like wearing uniform in school or in the work, because I dont have to think what I want to wear, and It help us to go to school very fast, well we all know that choosing clothes is very difficult because other people cant choose what they want to wear, sometimes It cause of headache. [bobet17]
I hate wearing Uniforms. When i was in school i just hated wearing the same uniform to school day after day. But couldn't help it as its a rule with all schools to be in proper uniform. Once i was out of school and in Junior college i was so happy. We could wear what ever we liked as long as it looked pretty decent enough and it was in no way totally vulgar. I don't have too many clothes. have just a few as i'm not so particular about dressing and Grooming but i would like to wear my own clothes rather than a Uniform and i'm pretty much sure almost all would share the same opinion like me. [razor123]
no i dont like uniform. It makes some me dull combined with fear... [anandqq]
fear? Uniforms aren't dumb, they're professional. [Magene]
I can understand why a lot of people hate uniforms but when I started working and had to wear a uniform, I loved it. With uniforms, the 'I have nothing to wear!' thing is eliminated altogether. Plus, I don't have to dirty my other clothes for work. [Magene]
At school wearing a uniform is a very practical thing. It saves money and you don't have to think what to wear everyday. it helps as well to keep discipline. At work sometimes it is a must if you are working in costumer service, or safety, or for any other reason you have to be clearly identified by people. I wear one and it really makes things a lot easier. Anyway I rather wear clothes of my own choice. [overwings]
When I was a young boy I loved uniforms. I thought they were so smart. Now, its nothing to me. I have a few clothes and thats all as far as I am concerned. Its no longer important. [Bluepatch]
i would prefer wearin a uniform cause then when y where normal clothes to go out you look like nice cause no one has seen you in it before and wearing a uniform makesyou feel part of a community [garwee1]
Hi richiem, When I was in College, I love to wear uniform..Since, I don't need to do laundry all the time if we are allowed to wear any clothes..Actually, I started in a university which has no uniform..It's cool but tiring on the other hand since I am washing manually my clothes that time and it's time consuming!happyhappyhappy [checapricorn]
I like wearing my uniform in going to work.I love to wear my white unform. [bestie]
I could see why it is important for people to be able to make their own choice when it comes to what they wear, on the other hand there should be some guideline as far as work and school go. People should still be able to pick out certain colors and styles they like as long as it is tasteful and not tacktless. I wore a unifor throughout most of my school years, I didn't mind it that much. I have always said as logn as I am looking good then it dosen't matter what i'm wearing. Now I do wear shirts and ties to work but I do get to choose what colors and styles I wear, I guess it would have been nice to do that for school but then you would see some boy with a rock band tie or something. [bowtieguy]
We are required to nwear uniforms and i wear them not because I really love to wear uniforms but because it is very convenient at times and it can also be very economical sunce you don't really need to have to buy a new dress often. However, I also love clothes so I nstill buy a lot of clothes. While we are required to wear uniforms,of a different color everyday except friday, we are given flexibility since we can have different styles, designs and even different shades of the uniform color. So we can still have a lot mof variety. And i do not wear the uniform everyday of the week because I love to dress up. But there are times you don't know what to wear so a uniform can come in handy. [acevivx]
I do wear a variety of clothes. During weekdays, I have to wear a set of uniform which were issued to us by the company I am currently working with for almost four years now. Each set is composed of a blouse, skirt, and blazer. I also am used to wearing pantyhose stockings when I wear skirts. During Fridays, we are allowed to wear slacks and blouse because we consider this as our 'wash day'. Some of the employees wear pants and shirts eventhough we are not permitted to; but the Personnel department is quite lenient regarding this at this time because management is already planning to close shop by the end of the present year. But even if this is the case, I still prefer using our uniform because I personally don't have a lot of casual clothes to wear, just like you. During trips to the province or picnics or malling, I usually wear pants and shirts because I find them more comfortable to wear. In them, I could sit any way I want to because I don't have to worry about any lingerie or undies being seen by the public. To add up, I'm not particular with brand names, just as long as my clothes are clean and fragrant or smelling okay. [mykmari_08]
Uniform makes one look dignified. That is my personal opinion. Whether it is the uniform of a police, a students, a nurse, a doctor, or a housemaid, I always find dignity in them. Personally, I also prefer to wear uniform in my office but it so happened that we have no uniform so I have to go through the pain of choosing what clothings I would wear every day. Sometimes, I will have to wear one then take off again if I don't like how it looks on me. It's really sometimes time consuming. [salonga]
Of course I do. If you'll let me choose, I prefer having a uniform at work because one it helps you identify where you're working and it saves your other clothes for worning out. It aslo gives you the sense of pride for your company that you work with. [mchavez11]
For me, i would rather wear a uniform for school or office. It is time saving and money saving as well. It won't give me a hard time in choosing what clothes to wear every day... [nvquinto]
I don't like to wear a uniform but I have to. Then I agree with you about choosing. As a female,I always don't know what to wear and have the dicision making problem. That is good for me to wear uniform because whatever I wear, I have to change to the uniform. [indie416alvin]
I prefer to wear my own clothes. If I had to wear a uniform, I wouldn't be comfortable and therefore I wouldn't work as well. [sarahruthbeth22]
i too don't have a lot of clothes to wear as it is difficult for me to buy lots of it. we have uniforms and i am glad that i am not force to buy other clothes other than the uniform required. happy (neildc @ red/89/1720) [neildc]
Uniforms make a lot easier deciding what to wear everyday, and in fact you save money in clothes if you work in uniform. On the other hand after years wearign uniform at work I am a bit tired of that. [overwings]
Yes, i like it. It can help me save a lot of money. If i am not asked to wear a uniform, i have to change my clothes every day and think of what i will wear tomorrow every day. It's boring. [airl1527]
