Well, as with any product, we tend to go for something that every has, or that is very popular. This is especially the case with clothes, as we almost always buy clothes from Brands we either trust, popular, trendy, etc. I feel that wearing a brand somehow makes me feel better than wearing a shirt that I can get for $1 at a discount store. It makes you fit into society better and more accept by your peers. What I'm trying to say is to wear clothes that you like, and that your peers would like too :). My favorite ''brand'' has to be American Eagle, becasue they got really sweet t-shirts and polos.
My question here today is do you care more about what brand you buy, or what the actually material or price is?

responses and comments:
I wear clothes, not brands. Although I might buy something with a brand on once in awhile, but it still has to feel comfortable. I'm a bit of a frugal person, although if I were going to an interview or on a date I might splurge just a little extra. I don't think clothes make the person, the person makes the clothes, but not everyone thinks like me... but I find it at lot easier to think that way and save up for my own house someday... especially since college is expensive so that doesn't leave alot of capital for brand names that are expensive... but if they're on sale well... I might snag me something. [Trinquette]
I care only about price. I have only a part time income with a child to raise so watching my budget is a big deal. I shop only at thrift stores for my clothes but occassional have bought at a couple of name brand stores. But last time I shopped at thrift store I bought a lot of name brand clothes for under five dollars. I got old navy, american eagle, aeropostale, and some others I can't remember. So I can still have nice clothes for reasonable pricing. [jessi0887]
i will be honest. i sometimes go for the brands because often times, the brands have really nice ones like sure abrecrombie and fitch is really expensive but i really do like their clothes on the other hand, while i'm just browsing, i find nice clothes not from a brand. in this case, i will get it. i guess it depends on if i like the clothes or not but when i start shopping, i do go for the brands. i start by looking for all the brands that i like. [bohemian03]
I wear clothes, not brands...I really could care less what brand it is. As long as its nice & reasonably priced & what I am looking for that's all that matters to me. I do not have the budget to be spending lots of money on clothes, plus I do hair so I am forver getting color or Bleach on me & once that happens its usually ruined so I never buy anything expensive for work(but I don't go in looking like a slob either). I am a big clearance rack shopper. That is the best place to get the bargains & some really nice stuff... [ckhair13]
Hello bluesinjid this is checkmail and often go to shopping and always prefer branded clothes, except when needs clothes for some dirty work like painting, Cleaning, Color festival, etc.Well i always follow some of my known brands like the raymonds, vimal, Kumars, and some news brands like Apple, denim, studd, etc.Yes still there are some latest brands to be tried like Peter Englans, Van heusan, pepe, etc.The branded clothes do make some sense of style and accent. The material is of superior quality with high price compared to the small brands. [checkmail]
I will agree that there is alot of brands out there and they are nice but with a nice price too. With the way things have been going this year so far I believe we all need to watch what we spend. The cost may be worth it for a name brand digital camera, computer, or other electronics. However, for clothes it just doesn't seem worth it at times. I shop by what I like the best. That doesn't mean name brand at all. I can go to JCPenny when they have a sell and get things that I like to wear just as cheap as Wal-Mart. No one needs to know what brand of clothing that you are wearing unless you tell them. [rosepedal64]
I usually wear what I can afford. What brand it is means little to me. I do not see any need in having the most expensive of something if it has just as good quality. [machizmo]
I wear clothes not brands. I buy brands sometimes if i like it but i don't really care. you can find just as nice of clothes as brands for half the price or shop at a store that sells name brand cheaper. clothes are clothes when it come down to it though and they don't make you. [sameroad]
hello bluesinjid, Wearing branded clothes will make your life style indeed to the next level. My clothes are not all branded but what matters for me, is that they are clean and really fits me. Looking good to whatever I'm wearing counts more than the brand. [robert19ph]
The only brand that i always wear in mens sport shirts is croft and barrow brand they never shrink, lose their color, and dont wrinkle easily. anything else i really dont care, whatever fits right and is comfortable. would i ever but a banana joe 125.00 shirt not even if i won the lottery, 5 times. [max1950]
happyI will select brands of clothes first,Next i will look their design which make me satisfy or not.I don't wear the new fashion.I will select if them proper with me. [busky5]
I would have to say that I don't get name brand cloths. I go to yard sales and salvation army. Even tho I am 18 and on my own I still go to the cheap places because that was the way that I was brought up. The reason I was brought up this way is because growing up I had 6 siblings. [Wynters_mama]
I wear clothes. I sometimes buy brands, but most of the time I buy those I feel comfortable wearing. I don't think buying branded clothes is necessary to fit in the society, uh not in where i'm in. It's how do you look that matters, no matter how inexpensive your dress is for as long as you know how to wear it, you still belong. [janzki]
I don't care who makes what as long as it is made well. As with many things, brand names are merely sold for their names only. I am just as happy shopping at Goodwill for every day clothes. For those special nights out, I will splurge a little on a new dress, heels and a purse that I find on sale. [puddytat101]
Well, for me I am not really about the brand. More into price I might say. But if you're going to look at it, branded clothes have good quality material compared to those cheap clothes. Of course I don't expect them to have best materials if they selling it in low price. Also it depends nowadays, people is so practical that most of the time they'll just buy like 3 cheap clothes than having 1 expensive branded clothes. ^0^ I do that a lot of times already. hahah~ If I have a lot of money I'll buy clothes that even if it's cheap or branded I'll make sure that the clothes materials will last long. ^0< [treychi]
I tend to stray more towards wearing brands, just because I feel odd going around without them on. Usually with brand name clothes they are made with better material aswell which is a plus. Since I can remember I have tried to wear name brand clothes. [Sweeten]
I tend to be very practical in buying clothes. There are always three things that I keep in mind. First, the material. It may come cheap but if the material is really bad then I still won't buy it. Second, the style. The dress, blouse or pair of pants must fit my particular style. And lastly, the price, of course. Money is really hard to come by these days so it's important for me to be practical on things like this. It's actually possible to buy clothes which are not that expensive, yet are very stylish and have very good material. So to answer your question, no. I'm not very particular with wearing branded clothing. I feel like you often are paying for the designer brand name more than any higher quality. I don't go around showing people my labels all day and I frankly just don't care. If it was an amazing work of art of an outfit I might pay more for the designer brand... otherwise I would rather use the money for something else. All I need is to be comfortable in what I am wearing. And when I'm comfortable with what I wear, it shows by the confidence I exude.:) [karenrosesalazar]
I can wear any clothes as long as I know that it fits me and it looks ok with me. I am not the type of person who always wanted to follow what is new and what is worn by many people. [entrepinoy]
I look for quality in my clothes, not labels. I don't care about being popular as I am not in high school anymore. I wear what I want to wear and I don't really pay attention to strangers to see if they are eyeing my clothes or not. As for style I like to go for something a bit funky but I also like classic clothing. I understand that it is important for some people as to what brands they wear and I don't have a problem with that as I hope they don't have a problem with my not wanting to trendy. [kcoregon]
hi...Well for me itsalways how attractive a cloth looks compared to the brand. I do agree that branded clothes are high quality once but not all. Some branded once are just like the normal clothes. As long as I have something to wear and cover myself I am happy. So I would not go for brand. Thanusha [thanusha85]
i wear clothes that look good and choosing a brand is only a secondary factor to me, what is the purpose of choosing a brand of cloth and the cloth does not befit one's stature, it will only amount to a waste of money, but choosing a cloth simply because it fits you is the most recognisable thing [tundeemma]
I don't prefer brand over comfortably, but it not necessarily I don't like look good. Sometime I always see that clothes without brand also has a good design and a lot cheaper. DOn;t brand make it more expensive? Moreover with with the price of a brand cloth I can buy a few more clothes, so it more economical for me. [ucue2008]
I wear clothes not the brand. I pick clothes with quality material regardless of brand. If I find something with the same material and workmanship with cheaper price, I pick that one. [sikat101]
I just wear clothes and not brands. I don't know for sure if the Brands do actually last a lot longer than regular clothes. I just look at the value and trying to save some money. I don't really care what my friends have to say about my clothes. [chunijole]
I really dont mind or think too much of the brand. I dont mind if I buy it at a thrift store, department store or specialty store. I dont even mind if its just a hand-me-down. As long as I like it then Ill wear it. I frankly dont mind if its from Armani, gucci or Chanel, if it doesnt fit me well, doesnt look good on me and Im not comfortable in it then its just not for me. I wouldnt 'force' myself on clothes that clearly doesnt want me even if I could afford it.LOLlol I usually dont worry what other people would think about me and what I wear. All people are entitled to their own opinions anyway. That being the case, I could see where some people have a loyalty to a certain brand. The brand might be unknown but still the clothes that they offer works well for a particular person so they tend to buy clothes at the same brand. Kinda like what you have described. You turn to American Eagle because you love their design, the material and perhaps even their price. The 'brand' that I really end up buying would be Street Jeans and Brit London. They have the tribal and graffiti designs that Ive always been looking for and they have the women's clothes. [bjcyrix]
I like clothes mostly branded its cool to be popular clothes to wear, why its well known and the brand it has quality. But their are some clothes are good shirt.i like designing shirt.new style and how the art they printed the shirt. Its more with price and the brand itself. The expensive one is cool, but it depend upon our budget. [edrian]
Brand or not, I choose clothes I think look good. Usually though, I will either get brand inventories that are Discounted for outlet stores, or lesser known "brand" clothes. My wardrobe isn't huge, and I'm not really into clothes. I buy what is comfortable first and foremost. Of course I need certain clothes for work and special occasions, but they are just that - for work and special occasions. The rest are what I find comfortable - I don't buy clothes for other people to think I look nice, unless I am trying to impress a lady :) Plus, money is a bit tighter these days. After I got done paying my bills and taxes last year my account was sufficiently minimized. I would rather spend the extra money doing something or save it for when I really need it. But that is just me; to each their own. [jeg2315]
i wear brand of course. but maybe it's fake. nowaday, a lot of fake branded clothes [bnaufal]
As long as my clothes are clean and comfortable, I dont give a monkey's what brand they are, whether they're considered 'fashionable' or 'stylish' or whether anyone else would be seen dead in them. If people would reject me because of what I wear then they are not the sort of people I'd want to be accepted by. Similarly, I dont judge others by the style/brand of their clothes. [Wizzywig]
when a student goes to schoool then various students in the same school wears a same dress. there is a reason behind this. because every parent can't afford the branded clothes. anywai i wear the brands only because my parents can aFFORD THIS. SO I DON'T HESITATE TO BUY IT. [nitu1952]
I am not very brand conscious simply coz I cant afford to wear all branded clothes. I do buy brands but only for formal clothes and that also a few sets which I keep apart. For regular use of the entire family, I buy from ordinary shops the quality does not vary much but yes, the local shops have less variety and appeal but the price is really affordable. [sudiptacallingu]
Yeah wearing a brand will people look better and feel better. More important brand expresses your social status in the society. People will get to know which class you are in by judging which brand you are wearing. Young people tend to seek for the brank that the superstars are introducing . For me i'm looking for good quality, comfortable clothes . Although i don't focus on brand too much you should admit that only brand clothes can meet these requirements . [grace118224]
Hi, As to clothes, you are right, i often choose the brands. Wearing brands make me acceptable and formal, especially when i now working a international company.Brands make me feel better. Now i more care about the brand than the material and the price. Of course, the price should be acceptable for me. Happy mylotting! [sutent]
The human eventhougth has a own beauty it gets rated by the way one dresses, that makes him a full human and make the eyes around to have a quick grasp over. i rather never go brand wise, any best brand the cloth may be but i must feel that, if i wear the cloth it makes me geniune.and nothing about the price if the cloth has the quality to be paid. [tharaa]
honestly, with all the fake stuff around which looks so real, sometimes even if you put on the most expensive blouse, others wouldn't tell. i will go for a piece of clothing which looks good on me and not too pricey. nevertheless, i will get a branded sports shoes because i don't change sport shoes so often as sports shoes are meant to last. but for other fashionable stuff, i think something good and affordable will do! ;) [eeneling]
Yeah i am a brand conscious. Because branded clothes have the best quality. And it will really cost you if you really want a nice quality clothes. happy mylotting! [tuliorowena]
I usually prefer to wear clothes which suite me rather than looking for wierd branded clothes. It is better to wear good looking clothes rather than wearing some wierd stuff which is so called as "Branded". Just for the sake of Brands I would not sacrifice on Looks. Although sometimes we get good clothes with good Brands so then we prefer those clothes. [murtuza89]
I don't buy brands. Well firstly because i don't have the cash to. Secondly, i can get the two things for that price that are worth as much as the branded stuff. I'm not gonna lie, some people who wear branded stuff right look really cool. but its not the brands that make the people. so wear what you can, and enjoy it. The only branded stuff that i can't do without is perfume, but then again you were asking about clothes right. lol. [dex1007]
i only buy clothes that i can afford and will look good on me, i dont care if it doesnt have a brand as long as i am comfortable wearing it and it fits me nicely and will look fine one me, that would be enough. I dont mind the trends or what people around me says about the brandless clothes, some people i know wear clothes with brands and still doesnt look good on them, so better wear anything that will look on you regardless of brands or brandless. [trelsue]
Dear friend, I do wear clothes according to its comfortability and how well it suits me. I do give a consideration while selecting clothes, but never went after any brand if I found any other unbranded good clothes.happy [SHAMRACK]
I always wear something that looks good irrespective of money. But generally I don't wear branded clothes.Have a good time [ravirai8616561]
i don't pay attention to brand, quality and price and design that are the first select for me.i think that the prices of wearing brand is very high and looks very simple,i don't hope to spend my money to buy it.i can selcet the prices is fit for my spending and the design let me feel very fashional and it's quality feel very well,i can buy it,i couldn't hope i always spend my money to my cloths,i pay attention to save some money to buy what i need, the cloths make somebody feel me tideness and neatness and comfortable,it is cloth i can selcet. [bingchen]
i wear clothes not brands, because how many you pay for the clothes if you fit to it, you will be confident and now adays, much cheap clothes usually like as expensive same as brand one. i bought the brands clothes for the party time. [fchalida]
It depends on time and place .... sometime i do need branded clothing as the event and function i attend requires it. but sometimes( to save money) i will buy clothes that doesnt have any brand logo with it. I would say it just how you live your life and spend your money. [broboque]
I care more about the clothes that I wear than the brand. If I by cheap clothes and the look good that is all that I care about. [crysontherocks77]
I have never been brand conscious. If I see something that I like and the price and quality are right I will buy it. I am always a bit suspicious of branded products. To me the prices always seem to be on the expensive side and are just not worth it. Often I can double the unbranded clothing for the same price as the branded merchandise. [Basil2004]
Brands don't interest me much, due usually to the price. The clothes I choose are for comfort and not to promote some greedy company using slave labour. Branded names usually manufacture their goods in third world countries with no or very little in respect to labour laws. They then flood the markets with their products telling you via adverts how cool it will make you buying their overpriced products. It does not help supporting a company that will never set up shop in your country, because they don't want to pay you a decent salary. Instead they will use underaged kids & overworked women & give them next to nothing for their efforts. Meanwhile, you'll be overcharged & "feel cool" wearing their wares which always includes free advertisement for them. [Flikker]
I don't care a lot about brands. However, I will not buy clothing that is shoddily constructed. I always look at the seams, the hems, and how well sewn they are. Too many clothes are made on the cheap and fall apart quickly. So I can see why you would stick to brands you trust. [MerlotMac]
I dont wear name brand clothes. The only name brand clothing I have is my wrangler jeans and they were 54.95 the most I will ever spend on jeans. its the price that should matter, I bought name brand jeans once at a consignment store for 10.00, they last 2yrs. My wrnaglers have last 10yrs. I buy other jeans that are not name brand only because they are spendy.I will only wear Wranglers because they are name brand and they have a nice fit, also the little emblom is rockin! Im a cowgirl at heart. [amberp_77]
Well, I do care more about the material and price for sure. But, I have to say that most of the times. branded clothes are better in quality and yea, sometimes it does make feel better and proud wearing them :) I buy branded clothes only when they have a really big discount (hmm..say, 70 - 80%) and the time must be when the pay day is coming, lol. [eltobh]
I don't care about brand.I look where it is cheap and good. [linda2901]
I'm not actually bothered and I do not feel that it is a good thing to place importance on a brand. What matters more to me is the fit, the look, and the cost/value of anything I wear. I couldn't care less if it has a designer label on it. Actually I get quite annoyed by people who only wear branded clothes - it is quite shallow. [UK_Shree]
brands definitely. most of my clothes are designer but i'm always looking for a bargain :) [Nic7389]
Thanks everyone for the comments! Wow there are a lot of people in here, because of the economical times, prefer no brand than brand names. It is a good thing to look for a bargain, as I go to clearance sale first to see if they have anything i like on sale. [bluesinjid]
I like to wear clothes with some famous brands, but I do not mind to go with any different products. If I can afford a famous item, I will go for it. If not, I will go with a different and normal one. It is not a big deal to me at all. For me the most important things are that I get a good deal on quality clothes; that the clothes are comfortable; and that the clothes are for the most part an environmentally friendly product. I don't want to contribute to any more damage to our earth just because I wanted to look good. I am trying to do my part and keep a little money in my pocket. [minhminh0604]
Oh, I don't wear branded clothes. I have not got many of those branded clothing as I find it not practical to have clothings be that pricey and wore in on our body. As the changing of design and fashions of clothing are so intense nowadays, having to buy branded clothing will not be able to last that long. I will go for the normal clothing however I don't mind paying for for the material that is comfortable. Happy MyLotting [cwong77]
I come from the retailing business, and what i can say is that these brands do not appeal to me anymore. I realized that we are actually paying for their advertisements, so that we will be convinced to buy their products more, thus providing them with more resources to spend for advertisements to convince us. This cycle goes on and on. Well, i was able to find out that these companies that are in the malls fighting for the piece in the market share, they do business with each other behind the scene. We think that they are competing? Well, they do compete, but many times, a company produces the stocks of their competing brands. Therefore, why buy these. It is therefore important for one to understand products, so that one will be able to understand quality. That is what i am willing to pay for. [safejunk]
