Do You Wear Clothes That Are For Comfort Or For The Looks

I have always seen a lot of people wearing clothes that are not appropriate in terms of weather conditions. They wore it simply for the looks. Most especially here in our country were the weather is hot and humid, it is uncomfortable to wear a coat and tie. Unfortunately a lot of people are wearing this for the looks and for business purposes despite the fact that it is making them sweat so much and is very uncomfortable. As for me, I am a cassual dresser and don't like fancy clothes. I wear clothes for comfort and not mainly for the looks. What about you?

I always have been wearing comfortable clothes. You can also find comfortable clothes that are good-looking. [busy_lizzie]
I agree with you busy_lizzie because I use to wear comfortable clothes and very modern with good looking. [as2006]

I do a little of both actually. I wear clothes mostly for comfort but I've been known to wear clothes just for how they look even if they aren't comfortable. That's not often, though. I'll wear a cute pair of high heels for a night but then after they hurt my feet I won't do it again for a long time. Though you can find cute and comfortable designer clothes and accessories if you do your research. So it is nice to be able to feel comfortable and know I look good when I can. [slyvixen42]
I see, it think I also do the same as you. There are certain occasions here that I have to attend to and have to wear some clothes for the occasions. It actually makes me look good but a little bit uncomfortable. That is perhaps why I rarely attend to some gatherings where you have to wear some special clothes. [jpso138]

I usually buy clothes that I would really wear, so t-shirts and casuals tops are likely to fill my closet. Sometimes, if the occasion calls for it, I need to wear something extra glamorous. Even if it kills me, I wear heels. Most days though I dress for comfort. I'm a little self conscious so I don't like to draw attention to myself by wearing clothes that are too fashionable. [mimico]
Practically I have a lot of white t-shirts on my closet to. Since its much more comfortable to wear most especially in a country like ours. I am not a fashionable person. Most often I just wear t-shirts and ordinary pants. Though in some occasion I have to dress for such. [jpso138]

I wear clothes which is good in quality but less amount, you can get it any where and it cost less, if the material is nice it means its comfortable to wear, you don't need to wear clothes that is not fit to your style or to the weather because you look stupid on it..better buy good quality clothes but less price..and the questions is where to get them..well keep your eye on sale in a big mall where good brand is there..that is my secret.. [glensgirl]
You have a point there. I also monitor on shops going on sale. It really saves you money and will give you the opportunity to buy clothes of good quality with cheaper prices. I am not that fashionable. But obviously there are those that are of fashion yet does not appear to be good. I go with your point that as long as ther materials are good, most likely they are comfortable to wear. [jpso138]

I have to be comfortable in what I am wearing, I cannot stand having clothes on that irritate me, or are not suited to the weather. I have bought before clothes that are fashionable and found that there is not much comfort factor in some of them. So I just buy what I like and as long as it is comfy that is enough for me. I do like to dress up when I go out though, but then again I still have to feel comfortable in what I wear. I have found there are a number of celebrity brand shoes that I adore. However, you have to be careful and do some research because some of them are cute but would be a literal pain to wear all day. Some of them, however, are both adorable and I find I can wear them whether out at a bar or at the office. With a little research I get the glamor and comfort I crave in one product. [gemini_rose]
Yes, being comfortable is the key. You don't have to wear those that are to expensive to impress. I think we are on the same level. More of comfort rather than looks. But then of course, there are those that are comfortable and are nice looking too. So I guess it all depends on the wearer. Its a matter of selecting the right comfortable clothes that is fit for each one of us. [jpso138]

I dress in comfortable clothes. If I need/want something to look stylish, I'm more than willing to do the extra research and shopping to find something that's also comfortable. I, personally, don't understand being in pain or uncomfortable just to make someone else happy or attracted to you. Whenever I've had to dress up for work or an interview or something, I've always made very sure that I've got something appropriate that's comfortable. It's possible, but it might not be at your local department store. [fluffnflowers]
You are right. The thing is I am not very much good at selecting clothes and doing some research on those stores. The good thing about females are thier inherent attitude to shop wisely while we males are more of buy outright attitude. But obviously choosing the right comfortable clothes would be something that we sould do. [jpso138]

I am the same way. I don't like wearing clothes unless they're comfortable. But, sometimes it's just not always possible. A lot of workplaces have very strict dress codes or expectations as to how people should look that you really don't have any choice. I remember interviewing for a job at a law firm to work in the law library and they were adamant that I wear pumps and a suit to work even though I would be running around all day and standing on my feet. It would have been excruciating as I already have foot problems and if I can't wear comfortable shoes, then I can't take the job. However, some jobs can be flexible so make sure you are clear on the restrictions to the dress code. I also interviewed for a real estate firm that wanted me to wear professional looking shoes. But they could be a stylish pair of flats or a heal with a kitten heal. This proves some employers understand you can look professional and put together, while still being comfortable. But, I know some other people would jump at that. [desertdarlene]
I see. Maybe its because they are lawyers and they can easily defend themselves when somebody complaints of low salary. Hahaha! Seriously, thank you for the response and take care! [jpso138]

Hi jpso, Even when I was an youngster I never worried about looks. I liked only comfortable clothes, which made me like wearing them. I could carry out any of the ordinary dresses with elan then. But now I don't have to worry about those things.. I just wear what I like.. It is usually salwars for the for the work time, either at Home or at office.. Otherwise sarees that too according to the weather and climate. It is very hot and humid in our place too. So only cotton and sometimes can carry chiffon also.. [madlees]
Well, probably one of this days you will be able to visit some places abroad. I know its nice to be in each of our country but going out on a Travel is also great. Enjoying the views and the tourist spots. The only downline is the expense. [jpso138]

Hello jp, I love to wear clothes with both aims, comfort and at the same time look. I know there are several options when we just know how to match our suit! But, for those who are wearing those type in your Country, maybe their office is air condition and they need it really for their type of work! [checapricorn]
Correct, I hope someone can correct them, a close friend! They will be funny for others instead that they want to impress and to be look good, it will be the other way around! [checapricorn]

I wear what I like, what I think looks good on me and what I am comfortable in. I am nonconformist in the clothes department. If I can't find something that I am looking for I may try to make it myself. LOL! I have found since I lost some weight that I can find more options of clothes that are both comfortable and stylish. Plus, I just like to shop a bit more and have more energy. But I will still probably always design my own clothes part of the time, because it gives me something unique to wear! [Irishfrndly65]
I see, that would make you different and perhaps something special. Perhaps you should develop that talent of yours by designing clothes for others. Well, thanks for responding and best to you and your designs. [jpso138]

Basically I am for the comfort clothes. As long as my clothes are comfortable and work friendly, I really don't care about the brand. Many would say it looks very casual or looks worn out like bought from a salvation army, I don't care. It's my life not theirs. But if I'm working, I follow rules and dress codes. Take care =) [leateagee]
Same here, brand for me does not matter. As long as its comfortable and presentable for the situation. In so far as the work is concerned, we have no choice for it since we have to follow dress codes otherwise we may get into trouble. Take care likewise and thanks for responding. [jpso138]

I wear clothes for comfort I believe in makin my own Style Statement n dont really depend much on my CLothes for that Tho even clothes r imp..But jz the looks wud definitely spoil their purpose watever it be if its not comfy [doctorgenius]
Yes, you are right. I share with your idea. No matter how the clothes look it will spoil the purpose if its uncomfortable. Basically there are people who would live with that and suffer the uncomfort just to look great. [jpso138]

Now that I'm retired I dress for comfort. In fact, I seldom wear anything dressier than clean jeans! When my father-in-law died earlier this year I had to go out and buy a dressy pantsuit for the funeral. And of course, if I'm not planning on leaving the house, I might just wear my nightclothes all day. THIS is the life. wink [youdontsay]
Hahahaha! Yes, that is the life. Some people think that retiring is the end. I like your attitude, retiring is actually enjoying or reaping the rewards of hard work. You have every right to enjoy and be comfortable. So live the life with comfort and take care! [jpso138]

I wear clothes that look good and yet are comfortable. Luckily I can get away with not wearing a suit as a woman! [creative_genius]
I see, well you are definitely correct on that aspect. Somehow its a matter of balance of looking good and being comfortable. [jpso138]

Oh, I definately go for comfort. I love it if the clothes are great looking but I need the comfort due to the length of time I'm wearing the clothes. [roberten]
Same here Roberten. I go for the comfort since it would be very tiring to suffer the uncomfort as you wear the clothes. [jpso138]

I would have to say that I wear clothes for comfort but I also have to think that my wife doesn't ALLOW me to go out in some of the outfits that I pick out so it is a combination of the two. I don't buy into the idea of not wearing polyester on an airplane or this or that.... The only time that I am conscious about how I look (and it seems weird to others) is at the gym.... I have to be color coordinated... other than that or some special function I have no problem with shorts and t-shirts just please not flip flops in a public place. Thanks Zelo [zeloguy]
same as wearing a micro mini, then the girl keeps on pulling the skirt down...LOL [didnotask4it]

I wear clothes that have comfort and looks. Nobody ever said we couldnt have both [xixinha]
Yes, that would be great. We can always have both. The thing that would most likely affect this decision is the price. But as mcuh as possible it would be nice to have both. Feeling good and looking great! [jpso138]

i dress for comfort but i pick things that appeal to me looks wise and that i know will be good for my body shape. i am overweight so i do not dress the way i would really like to to begin with but i do buy things that i know i will be comfortable in but that also look nice too as far as colors and patterns and styling goes. [mikeysmom]
I see. Well, I am not really good about patterns and combinations. But I have read some articles that wearing the right clothes and good combinations including the design would somehow improve the appearance may it be your overweight or underweight. Best to you! [jpso138]

I'm not big on the whole "fasion scene" lol I could care less how I dress compared to other people. I dont shop at any of the well known places...if I can find something i ike at walmart I will buy it. If its on sale...EVEN BETTER! I like to get what I want to where, whether it is hiking Books or jewelery, for the best price possible online or in stores. It doesn't have to be expensive to look and feel good. lol But I dont get out much, so I tend to just find whatever I can that is comfortable. If its ugly...oh well. [ambkeb]
Hahahaha! Yes, it would be good to buy those things that are on sale since you pay cheaper. Don't ever worry about having an ugly dress. From my point of view, comfort is far more better to consider. [jpso138]

I work from home. So I dress for comfort. I am pretty basic. Usually for me it is jeans and a t-shirt. Fancy just doesn't fit. So I don't really bother. That is unless I am goingout on a date with my hubby. Then a little effort is nice. [ersmommy1]
Yes, practically that goes the same for me. I just like white cotton shirts and jeans for casual day to day or even shorts. But in some outing with my wife or friends I add up a little effort. [jpso138]

I am more of a comfort type of person but the looks are definitely going to be there to. I wear what I think Ilook good in forget keeping up with the fashion they are here today and gone tomorrow. [Residual]
Right you are. I am also not a fashion guy. As long as its comfortable and basically okay, then I don't care about fashion. [jpso138]

i'm lucky that i don't really have to wear it for looks since i'm a stay at home mom myself. of course, when i go out, i do wear clothes for looks at times but at the same time, i ensure that i'm comfortable in those clothes too. hehe i'm definitely a comfort person rather than a looks person. on that i can guarantee. grins [sminut13]
Same here my friend. I guess most of us here go for comfort and in some both comfort and looks. But as long as you are at home, what is more important is being comfortable. [jpso138]

I wear clothes only for comfort and not for looks. Many people are bothered about looks. People aare becoming more and more fashion-conscios these days. The sense of comfort are gone. People are wearing costly , expensive dresses just for show-off. [kangallo]
Another good point out there. So true indeed. In fact I see a lot of people in our country whom you would look as if they are dress to kill. But obviously its up to them since they are entitled to wear what they like. But I am just curious how they last all day. Maybe perhaps they feel comfortable despite the sweat and uncomfort. [jpso138]

I am all about comfort. If I can be stylish while being comfortable, that is my favorite. I do like cool comfortable clothing. When i am around my house I just put one whatever. When I am out in public I wear neat but comfortable clothes. [snowy22315]
Same here. Basically that is what I do also. In the house you don't need to be wearing something what fashion dictates. As I go out to the public, perhaps a little adjustment can be done. But not to the point where I wear something fancy and expensive. [jpso138]

I'd like wear for comfort, but when I go to work I need to wear the suit, which I don't like. In the weekend I wear what I like. So there is 7 days for me to wear suit. sometimes we can't wear what we'd like, maybe we are live for others more than for ourselves. The most thing we do in our life is to contributor to our work and our home, our boss and our family happy, then we are happy.. [ynigz1]
Perfectly said. In life we have to make adjustments for the things we do. At work we can be ourselves and it does not matter what we wear, but in the company of friend, our partner or at work we have to do something to be part of the system. Happiness to you always! [jpso138]

I wear clothes that are comfortable. They can't look like rags though. I do care what they look like to an extent. [lilybug]
Yes, somehow to sumarize your response in three words. Comfortable and presentable! [jpso138]

I like to wear clothes that both look good and are comfortable. and cheap! as Deion says, you look good, you feel good, you feel good, you play good. I believe that! A little boost of confidence and you will feel better than if you had put on those old sweat pants! wear some cute jeans with a fashionable t-shirt and a necklace. simple, easy, and you wouldnt be embarassed if you came across the person of your dreams! haha [rposta07]
Hahahaha! I have heard of that saying too. And I fully agree with you. From your answer it looks as if you have not found your special someone yet. Well, I am very much sure that when you met the person you are dressed for the occasion. Goodluck to you! [jpso138]

It depends that some are wearing cloth to get the attraction they need but some do wear as a usual needs!! I myself always think that wearing cloth is a way to express your creativity to others but the first condittion is you must be comfort of what you are wearing. [yipseng]
Yes, definitely comfort means a lot. I really don't mind people wearing those fancy things or the designs they come up with. Being creative is sort of a talent and skill. Thanks for the response. [jpso138]

I am all about comfort. These people in business suits or other ridiculous clothes are just crazy. They should at least be getting stuff in cotton which is more comfortable if they really cared about how it looked. Most days I am wearing my pajamas, lol. [vera5d]
I see. Well, there are really those people who would like to wear those fancy suits to make them appear and look great. Despite the fact that its hot here in our country. They tend to follow what they see in the movies. But obviously they are the ones who will suffer the discomfort. Its really up to them. As long as we are comfortable, then I guess that is good! [jpso138]

Most of the time I dress for comfort, I work at home so most people don't see me anyways, if I go to the store or post office or whatever I like to be comfortable, I am not there to impress anyone. If I go to a Party or something then I will dress to impress, but otherwise I prefer comfort. [ladym33]
Yes, that is the right thing to do. I fully agree with you. We have to be flexible most of the time. But as much as possible, comfort is of top priority. [jpso138]

Comfortable always. I wear Cross Country/Theater/other shirts I've gotten from activities I am in. It's become part of my style, and everyone just accepts that. I love it. I'd rather be under dressed at a formal party than overdressed at a casual one. I can foresee my own future of having to wear dress clothes though, and I don't look forward to it. Oh well, such is life I suppose. [RiddleTom]
Well, I do the same setting. But somehow as you said, we have to do some adjusment eventually. [jpso138]

I wear clothes for comfort, especially since I have children. I have to be able to move quickly and withstand a spill on fingerprint on my clothes. I can't understand when i see a mom with children walking down the street half naked or with tight clothes and high heels on. What message is she sending this child, and how would she ever run after the child if she got away. Disaster! [jalucia]
Right you are. Although we are not in the position to tell them what to wear or what attire they choose. But somehow it would make a negative impact on them. Well, people do have different attitude and taste. Luckily for us we are far from that kind of disaster. Best to you! [jpso138]

comfor first and then the looks and the best is the combination of them. [wangchunlin]
Yes, you are right. Comfort is a priority. Then being presentable is part of it. [jpso138]

comfort of course comes first with me but I also like to dress according to my age and my body type. I'll admit, I'm a bit vain but not to the point of being miserable. If you take the time you can find comfortable clothes that are also stylish and look just fine on you regardless . I remember working in an office that required dressing up. It wasn't bad while working as there was air conditioning but leaving the building was unbearable in some weather! I got so that I brought my shorts and a tank top to work and changed before I left. Comfort comes first for sure! [sid556]
Exactly, that is the point that I was raising. Some people perhaps are suffering the same thing. Sad to say, they continue to wear something outside the office when it is no longer practical considering that it will be very uncomfortable. What you did is a wise thing to do. [jpso138]

well i too think the same thing. wear comfortable clothes. i always think how they were such clothes in a hot humid weather. i see them wearing thick shirts and full sleeve. I think my god how are u ppl wearing such a dress when it is so hot. i dunno y they shud do tht. its only possible in a place tht is very cold. same thing with boots and big shoes. it is not possible to wear them in a hot humid place , but for fashion these ppl wear it. they are just crazy i wud say. [buzzmehere]
Well, maybe they can bear the discomfort. But not for me. I would rather look ordinary and feel comfortable than look fancy yet sweating and uncomfortable. [jpso138]

hi dear...i mainly wear both type of clothes some i know r looking good but may not b very comfortable but i still wear it bcoz i know i dont have to wear it for long...for some formal functions we have to wear a saree and i think it is the prettiest and most gorgeous dress and anyone wearing it looks different and pretty but it is little complicated and not exactly very comfortable but we still wear it and feel good about it..otherwise at home and normally i wear a shorts, jeans, capris, cargos and t-shirts they r the most comfortable.. [nupats]
Yes, I think I heard about such clothes. They are great. But of course at home it would be better to just wear something comfortable. I always wear t-shirts at home and shorts. [jpso138]

I prefer wearing clothes that are comfortable. But then it's nice if it's comfortable and fashionable at the same time. If it's just for fashion but you are not comfortable wearing it, I think you would look funny on it. :) [chubzlife]
Yes, that would be great to have something comfortable and fashionable. Some people tend to prefer fashion but fashion may be good for one place yet funny to look at in other places. I guess you know what I mean. Well, thanks for the response. [jpso138]

My primary consideration is comfort. I see we come from the same country, and I agree with your point of view. :) I too like casual clothes. And I prefer cotton which I think is best for the climate we have here. I also prefer simple colors and prints. [NonaSaile]
I see. Glad to have met you here. Take care and best regards to you! [jpso138]

Hey Hello! I wear cloths for comfort and not for looks. But in work place people have to obey the rules is'nt it nobody could help them. Even i don't like fancy clothes. [ramyashreesk]
Definitely good for you. Though in the workplace we have to follow rules and and obey dress codes. Otherwise we may lose our job. Good thing if the company will consider the kind of weather that we have in each country. For us to work effectively, it is important to be comfortable. Otherwise we will spend so much time finding comfort instead of being productive. [jpso138]

Philippines,is a tropical country where I was born and living just for your information. The people are not needed to wear coat.I usually wear clothes that I am comportable but at the same time fashionable. I don't shop always from expensive botique because I belive that If you can carry your clothes even though it is not expensive why not right?I usually see people here in our country are so obsess buying expensive clothes but when they wear it they feel not comporatble and not appropriate in their appearance you know what i mean??So for my own opinion wear a clothes that you feel comportable but at the same time fashionable even it is not expensive brand... [fatima07]
Well, I truly understand what you mean. There are people here in our country who tends to wear by following what is fashionable in other countries. They would look funny. That would be something to find something comfortable and fashionable at the same time. From what place or city are you? I am from Cebu. [jpso138]

i dressed up according to my mood and with respect also of the weather..its hot in here and i prefer t-shirts and jeans when going out..especially on buying some stuffs or window shopping.. [vanities]
Yes, that is good. I also prefer t-shirts since its very comfortable to ear most especially in a place like ours. [jpso138]

I prefer to be comfortable! [angemac23]
Yes, comfortable is more preferred rather than being fashionale but uncomfortable. [jpso138]

i usually wear clothes that are comfortable... which is why i dont wear my high heels unless nesscary... i think i wear comfortable clothes that look good as i will not want to make a fool of myself by scratching myself when i am wearing itchy clothes... [raclie]
That is perfectly a good combination. Wearing something that is comfortable and presentable. That would seem so funny to look at a person who is very uncomfortable with his clothes. I think it would make them restless due to the discomfort. [jpso138]

For me all i care about is being comfortable. I'm not gonna wear something that isn't comfortable just because it looks good unless i really have to for some reason or another. [Timothy31]
Yes, I do the same as you. I only waer something that is special only on very special conditions. For most cases, I wear ordinary clothes. [jpso138]

I think wearing is for both.Comfortablement is important. But on no account can we ignore the importance of good look. It's really true that wwearing neatly can make you more confident. [Aaronbin]
Yes appearance to makes a great impact. But as much as possible I just wear something casual and comfortable. Sometimes that there are situations that we have to dress to kill for the occasion and that is totally acceptable. But if possible it would be great to find something fashionable and comfortable. [jpso138]

I always wear clothes for comfort most of time .I like natural and no constrain.especially when I at work or stay with my family I just considering any body think of me . However,I will notice my visualize when meet important person or attend a meeting.you know ,business affairs always lie on much explicit things . [zhubaohuisdme]
Yes, sometimes we have to dress to impress or perhaps to convince someone that we mean business, or that we can be trusted. But obviously at home nobody needs convincing and comfortable is all that matters. [jpso138]

I always wear comfortble clothes.Less is more, isn't it? But I enjoy the sight that people good looking dress. [camilla_l]
I agree with you on the comfortable aspect. But just want to clarify on the less thing. Are you talking about the price or about the physical aspect of the dress? [jpso138]

I choose both of them .But first is comfortable and second the other one.And I WON'T choose the ones ugly but very comfortable.someone has the same mind? [Vivianh]
Yes, comfort is something that I choose to first. Of course presentability also matters most especially if we go out to the public. [jpso138]

i always wearing a clothes that cofortable for me and i dont care to them if they dont like my looks, but i know that i can carry it out. [patzel88]
Thats the attitude. Basically it does not matter to us what people say, but sometimes we have to give it also some consideration. Anwyay, best of luck to you! [jpso138]

I'm always wearing clothes that I'm comfortable. When I'm home I only wear loose t-shirts and shorts because it's really hot in our country and I feel comfy when I wore them. When I'm outside I wore clothes that I'm comfortable but also I am presentable to look at. My friends told me that I can wear anything because I'm skinny. [Ranie19]
Well, from that aspect we do the same. I don't mind how I look at home for as long as I am comfortable. Going outside is rather different. But basically I always as much as possible wear something comfortable without sacrificing appearance. I mean as long as its presentable then its okay. I don't really go for fancy clothes. [jpso138]

I like to be comfort in my clothes, but when I go out to meet people or to see my friends I like both, comfort and nice looking clothes. but usually I wear clothes has both features. [scapula]
Yes, Scapula, that would be the perfect combination. As much as possible something that is comfy and preseatable is the best and perfect thing. [jpso138]

when i but clothes, first is obviously look. then at the same time i check whether i will be comfortable wearing it or not. else i do not buy it. if its agglomaration of two, then only i buy it. [subha12]
Perhaps what subbha is trying to explain is she will buy clothes if it is good and fitting for her as well as comfortable to wear. [jpso138]

What i dress is always depend on mood.I'll wear good-lookings when the weather is fine so that i enjoy the nice day ,though the clothes may make me feel a little uncomfortable.^^. anything else,i'll dress myself in different styles on different occasions. but in a word,i prefer the clothes which are loose and comfortable. [xoxoneverland]
Yes, that is flexibility. All in all you go for comfort and you adjust your clothing style depending on the occasion. Its actually a reasonable thing to do. Thanks for the response. [jpso138]

Id wear 100% comfort 50% looks. Whats the use of wearing clothes when you cant move around and sweat a lot. This are made to comfort you.... [ChristLikeFarmer]
That is exactly my poing there my friend as I posted this topic. It is essential that we should wear something comfortable since being uncomfortable would make us unproductive. It will also affect our appearance no matter how fashionable the clothes are. [jpso138]

I think I know the people you're referring to. I'm sure you see a lot of call center agents wearing or carrying thick jackets even in the middle of the day. Well, you can't blame them. They have to bring jackets to work because the airconditioning is set at very cold temp because of the computers. As for me, I also love to dress casually. Comfort comes first than fashion. It's good now that casual clothes and flip flops are IN fashion. [didnotask4it]
Yes you're absolutely right...I've seen people like that, who can't do without their coat and ties...well, maybe they wear this despite the heat because they give more importance to their status, like they want everyone to see that they have a respectful job and high position in the company they work for...or they just simply don't care about comfort. [didnotask4it]

It depends on where I am going, if I am not going anywhere special I prefer to dress casual for comfort but if I am going anywhwere nice I like to make the effort. [tbain11]
I do the same as you. Obviously we have to adjust to the situation. But I really make it a point to find and wear something that is comfortable yet approriate to where I'm going. [jpso138]

i wear good clothes for comfort bcoz if we are not comfortable enough then there no point of showing it of to other people. our dress code gives an image of how comfortable we are in that dress.it should match to our personality. [anishthesuperstar]
Yes, I think I got your point there. Dresses or clothes do reflects our personality although not all the time. There are people who are force to dress something that is not of their personal choice simply because they have a dress code to follow during work. Thank you for the response. [jpso138]

I only buy clothes which are made by natural materials and make me feel relax and comfortable. And all of these are ready, I will take their colors and fashion into consider. But many girls here, like to buy clothes good in look while not warm enough. They think the clothes can help them look ina good shape and more popular to the boys. [dandan07]
I see what you mean. It basically what teenage girls do here. Even if it is uncomfortable they will wear it just to impress some people or to attract people. [jpso138]

It is better to wear comfortable clothes. But for some professional peoples as part of their jobs it is necessary to wear coats, tie etc. regarding their work nature. So for them it is not possible to wear clothes according to their convenience. So our work system wants a change concerned with dressings of employees [mary463]
Yes, that is basically the thing with work. There are those that are forced in the sense that there is a dress code to follow. But obviously if given the freedom or given the choice, I am sure that people will opt to waer something that is more comfortable. [jpso138]

I like to dress comfortably, and when I go out I try to choose nice clothes that are also comfortable. But for work, depending on the industry, it is not always possible to dress comfortably. At my last job, men were required to wear dress shirts with ties, also with a jacket if they were meeting customers. They would usually wear long sleeve shirts, which was not required but I think they chose it for looks, because there is a perception that a tie doesn't look right with short sleeves. Men and women had to wear socks or stockings no matter the temperature. Women were not allowed to wear sleeveless tops, regardless of how hot it was. I admit I will sometimes sacrifice comfort in two areas: pants and shoes. I will wear pants if the waist is a little tight, if they look good and I am going out! lol And I have a weakness for pretty shoes, I have been known to sacrifice comfort in that case. [fluffysue]
Hahahaha, there is nothing wrong with that. I am sure that you are enjying it and liking it. Basically, it will also add to our comfort when we like the things we wear even if its a little bit uncomfortable. At work I have to wear bullet vest and carry heavy loads. I work as a tactical medic of our SWAT unit. Not to mention a helmet. But obviously I have to follow since this is for protection. I single mistake could cost life. [jpso138]

I dress for comfort, not for appearances. I decided many years ago that I wouldn't wear something just because others thought you should. So while many women think nothing of wearing very high heels and other clothing items that are uncomfortable, I do not. Casual is my way. [TessWhite]
There you are. That is the attitude. Basically I admire people who do like that. I see a lot of them wearing something despite the fact that its way back uncomfortable, sacrificing comfort just for the looks. But for me, as long as you feel comfortable and presentable, then it doesn't really matter. [jpso138]

I wear clothes for a combination of both looks and comfort. If an outfit looks adorable, but you can't breathe while you are wearing it, what good is it for? That being said, I like to look cute when I go out. [kellys3ps]
Yes, I have pointed this our earlier. Typically a combination of comfort and presentability. Not exactly fashion but rather dress for the occasion. I think everyone would want to be cute looking when he or she goes out. Most especially if you are still single and available. [jpso138]

i wear the kind of cloths which are comfortable to me but mean while i don't ignore the looks ! i am always looking for those cloths which are comfortable as well as are of good looks so in neither way i gonna compromise ! [vjindia]
ya that's true when it comes to price of clothings , most people prefer comfort over looks ! [vjindia]

I have never really been into fashion so I wear whatever makes me feel comfortable as far as possible. Of course, if I had a job interview or something then I wouldn't go in old jeans and worn out trainers or anything like that! I don't know why some fashions come about. I have often seen women wearing very short skirts and strapless tops - this is in England at night when it is freezing cold. I must admit that it can be difficult to find clothes which are both nice-looking and practical but it's not impossible. Then there is the cost. I do wonder how some people manage to keep up with all these fashions when they cost so much and change so often. I am glad I dress for comfort! [pumpkinjam]
I also dress for comfort and dress for the occasion. But obviously I don't bu expensive clothes. Just the simple one as long as its comfortable and presentable. I believe some people are investing to mucnon clothes just to look good. But I think with the current economic situation right now, it would not be a wise thing to do. [jpso138]

I wear clothes for the looks and I make sure that it is of the right material. It has no sense for me to wear winter pants in black or white in the summer and a heavy sweater in burgundy when I can wear summer pants in black or white and a t-shirt with a V-neck in burgundy. With business people they can wear business suits, but they would be silly if they wore a worsted suit when they could have worn a lighter fabric in the summer. Oh and I love dresses, especially when going out. I am sort of in the middle, casual sometimes, dressy the other times. [suspenseful]
I see. Well judging from your reply, you probably are good in choosing the right clothes that is fit and appropriate for you. Its actually a matter of balancing the right clothes for the right occasion. Take care and thanks for the response. [jpso138]

I'm all about being comfy!!! [maplaver]

I definitely prefer comfort to looks, but I do want to wear something that is at least halfway decent looking, also. I will try to find something that fits the weather and the occasion, but it modern, also. If I am not comfortable in an outfit, it won't stay on me very long, nor will I wear it very often. [Lizzie_PK_Swann]
Yes, that would be the right thing to do. The bottom line is wearing something that is comfortable and not out of place. [jpso138]

I like to wear clothes that I'm comfortable in, I'd rather be comfortable than miserable, even if its not the latest fashion. I usually wear jeans and t-shirts, or shorts if its during the summer. [walijo2008]
Yes, it would really make you miserable if the clothes you wear are uncomfortable. Definitely if you are comfy then you are also happy. You can easily move around and basically do the things that you do without feeling awkward and you would feel great. [jpso138]

Definately comfort... I showed up for work in sweat pants & t-shirts once, got yelled at for it... So I told'em, "do you want me to do my job affectively, or do you want me to look like I'm doing it affectively...?" They backed off quite a bit but still asked me to dress approporiately, which I understood... So I came to work next day in jeans polo shirt... They didn't say a thing since... [sk66rc]
Hahahaha, right you are. If you are comfortable with your clothes, you will be effective with your work. The thing is, we have to make adjustments most of the time most especially when we are at work. Well, at least we can do some balancing. Goodluck on your work and take care! [jpso138]

I would have to say that I have done both. I sometimes wear clothes for comfort and other times for looks. If I am lucky I can do both. It all depends for me on the day. [cortney09]
I agree. Its just a matter of balancing and flexibility. I do it most of the time. But often, I do choose comfort. As long as its presentable then I go for it. [jpso138]

I wear clothes depending on where should i go.To shop,to a party, to just hang out, or wherever. But one thing i make sure i always wear whats comfortable for me. [giePortlandOR_08]
Yes, that is the best thing to do. Being flexible on the clothes we wear depending on the occasion and the place that we go to. Moreover, we should as much as possible choose comfortable clthes otherwise we would not be able to move properly and work effectively. [jpso138]

Well i would say that i am guilty of wearing clothing only for looks sometimes. But i mostly wear it for comfort. I like to feel comfortable in what I'm wearing. [jessieBee]
Well, we do look good if we are wearing something that looks great but often times we always find comfortable clothes better to wear that those that look good yet uncomfortable. Most of the response here find comfortable clothes better to wear than those that look good. But then of course, the best would be are those that look good and are also comfortable. [jpso138]

well i prefer dresses dat r comfortable dan ones dat r fashinable but not comfi... [kesav010]
Yes, I also do the same. Being comfortable is better rather than wearing something that is great yet we are always in discomfort. [jpso138]

Well, I try to wear them for comfort and plus for looks.. I will try to buy an all in one.. That way, I am comfortable and also looking good.. [cream97]
Yes, that is a wise decision. If we could get the best of both then that would be the best choice. Though sometimes we cannot get it due to the price. But obviously if you are a good shopper you may be able to find the clothes that give you comfort and looks and with affordable prices. Take care! [jpso138]

i have always wear some comfortable clothes.they are made of cotton.i think these clothes are the most comfortable.at the same time i like look the most fashion clothes.but most of them don't make me feel comfortable.i rarely wear these.i like wearing simple. [zhoushuzhen]
Yes, most of my clothes are cotton since its very comfortable. There are plenty of nice looking clothes but I guess not all of them are comfortable. Some of them are comfortable yet very expensive. But the thing is well just have to be wise and shope for comfort and hopefully find clothes that are also good on the looks and affordable. [jpso138]

I wear clothes purly for comfort. I am not interested in wearing someting that is not physically comfortable, just beccause it looks good. [danishcanadian]
I see, well its really good to wear comfortable clothes. Basically when you are comfortable you feel good. Its better than looking good yet feeling uncomfortable. [jpso138]

I get a lot of comments about my shoes, cause I wear flipflops and open toed shoes all year round. But my feet don't really get cold, and they're claustrophobic. I can't stand wearing shoes. But yeah, I wear flip flops in very cold weather, which is probably not good for my health, but I love them. [neired82]
Well, I think its really up to us what to wear. Though there are occasions that we are influenced by the comments of others. What matters most however is our personal preference. Thank you for the reply. [jpso138]

hi jpso! happy i often also see people like that. during summer, they wear long sleeves and jackets. during rainy days, they wear spaghetti-strapped shirts or "sando". its really ridiculous because it seems as if they are living in another country just to follow a fashion trend. anyway, in my case, i mix comfort and fashion. i would look for a fashionable dress, try it on and if its comfortable, i would go for it. but if its not comfortable, i will not buy it. and when it comes to weather, i always put weather first. if its summer, i would wear light clothes. i'm the one who can't stand too much heat and sun and i don't like sweating a lot. so as much as possible, i wear clothes that are "airy" and light. if its the rainy days, of course i would wear something that can fight cold. but in any case, i still try to look fashionable at the same time. wink [secretbear]
You are right. Well, women and ladies are good of that. It seems that it's an inborn talent. We men however rarely have that.cry But obviously that is a good advantage on your end. Best to you and happy shopping. [jpso138]

It's both. I want to wear clothes that are comfortable at the same time is with looks but is not always in fashion. I preferred to wear clothes that are comfortable even though it's not in fashion. [anastacia22]
I do think we have the same choice. I don't usually go for fashion much but rather go for comfortable clothes more. But if I can find something that is both comfortable and fashionable, then that would be great. [jpso138]

I want to look my best whenever I go somewhere, but I also want my clothes to be comfortable. I won't wear something it if it too tight or looks bad in any way. I won't let my kids either. I can't stand to see someone wearing their clothes so tight they look like they have been melted and poured into them. I also can't stand to see shorts on a lady that looks like she is practically just wearing her underwear either. Ladies should dress like ladies and gentlemen like gentlemen. I guess I will make someone upset with me but that is just my two cents worth LOL!! Have a great day!! [SheliaLee]
guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions.lol [riyasam]

i like to wear clothes that are comfortable but also looks good.i would in no way wear a dress that is quite old-fashioned.have a good day. [riyasam]
Yes, wearing something that is somewhat old fashioned makes you look funny and old. The best choice would be is to mix fashion and comfort. But i think when we are at home, it does not matter if its out of fashion, the important thing is its comfortable. Best to you and good day likewise. [jpso138]

i also believe that tradition and Religious belief affects someone in wearing outer garments specially when they are outside of the comfort of their house or even so. to set an example, look at the muslims in the middle east on how they dress up when outside fo their house. women with very traditional and have strong roots from their Religion should cover their face and hands for it not be seen by males when outside of the house. that is also i think another thing to consider since i believe they don't have any choice or i would say that they ahve a choice but they just can't disobey with the rules imposed by the religious police and by the imams. [sirrob]
not a problem at all. nonetheless, the are just many things to consider and variables to take a look. [sirrob]

for me its absouloutly COMFORT..i cant compromise fashion wid comfort.Friends call me unconventional and outdated but for me...its comfort n thats it [walnutbrownie]
I see. Well sometimes we would look unconventional by wearing clothes that may seem to be outdated or even new but does not follow the trend. But you are right, for as long as you are comfortable, then who cares. Beside its you that will suffer if its uncomfortable. Best to you!happy [jpso138]

i wear clothes that i am comfortable wearing... my mood plays a big part in deciding what to wear for a certain day... but for me, it doesn't matter what you put on just as long as you are comfortable with it... coz i believe that a person will look good physically if he/she feels good about his/herself... no matter what he/she wears... [enavnai13]
Yes, I do meet people who dress as such. What is important is that they are comfortable and being comfortable and feeling good is better than wearing fancy clothes yet totally uncomfortable.happy [jpso138]

COMFORT with a capital C! :-D And I mean, jeans, sneakers, tshirt, and a sling bag that contains everything from coins to pepper spray. But as a girl there are places and occasions which require me to wear 'girly clothes' and I just hate it. Sometimes, I make up alibis not to attend. [Theresaaiza]
Not to worry, because my pepper spray's expired two years ago. I think this time, it should kill. One spray per 56 people! Biological warfare! [Theresaaiza]

I definitely wear clothes for comfort and couldn't care less what is in fashion. Take women's high heels...yes, they do look nice, but you'll never catch my tootsies in them....LOL...give me a comfortable walking shoe any day. As far as clothing in general though..aren't you glad we don't have to dress the way our ancestors did...women wearing to the ground dresses with petticoats, corsets, etc even in the summer? How did they manage it and not pass out all the time? [pyewacket]
Hahahaha, I see your point pyewacket. It is certainly uncomfortable. I wonder how people can wear those all day without getting tired.happy [jpso138]

Yeah i've seen a lot! I wonder how they feel about it. I'm pretty sure they feel hot more than they feel that they look good. Like you i'm a casual dresser too. I'm usually wearing my cheap Pony sneakers, Tshirt and a good pair of cheap jeans. I also bring along my mini backup so i can fit it little things like cd holders and many more. [modstar]
Yeah. Some people tend to do this, they sacrifice the comfort just to look good. Well, not for me, I really cannot move well if I am not comfortable. Of course I also take into consideration on the look aspect. I do not go out wearing a pajama just to be comfortable. Just presentable and comfortable.happy [jpso138]

It depends on how long I'll wear it. If I were to wear for a whole day then I'd prefer comfortable clothes, but if I were to wear it for a short time then I'd wear something that looked nice even though it's not at all too comfortable. Going to work, for example, I'd rather wear something comfortable - especially when it comes to shoes even though they look horrendous (as long as they're appropriate/proper :P) Thanks for the response on my discussion! [oyenkai]
Right you are oyenkai. That is exactly the right thing to do. We can always adjust.happy [jpso138]

Hi jpso, If I can find clothes that will serve both, I am with that...I am particular with comfort as well as it looks good on me but I am also particular if it fits the weather and situations! [checapricorn]
Yes, that is certainly something that I should also go for. And of course, it is also advisable that we should consider the weather. We might be wearing something that is quite nice to look at but would be uncomfortable to wear assuming that the weather is hot or cold. Best to you!happy [jpso138]

O always wore mine in comfort. I don't really care what fashion is as long as I feel comfortable but not to the extent that I look so lame or anfasionable. If occasion really requires, why not? But I'm always on my comfy jeans, t-shirt, comfy thongs and a watch. If I'm in the office, I wear slacks and comfortable bloses and flat shoes. I used to love high heels but since I gain weight, I'm most comfortable in flats. :) [joyce423]
I see, quite a good thing that you are doing. Basically I am somewhat doing what you are doing.Although in my case, I do not wear a blouse and no high heels of course. Though there are times that we have to wear something fancy for some occasions so as to make us fitting and not feeling out of place. Thanks for joining in and spending time to reply.happy [jpso138]
