Acie, More interesting Yes I have did many times and also I have spoiled my dress when I was concentrating on other issue during the Ironing of the dress. Most of the peoples would have the same problems and we must more concentrated during the Ironing of the cloths and should Not be divert our concentration to others or other things. So it was quite common and happening at many time in many occasion. So as a person we have to take more care and need to improve our concentration when starts to get the ironing of the dress. Dear Acie, Once, my own nice white blouse. Nearly burnt, left the ironed mark there. I am so sadcry Surprisingly, after a few more wash, the mark was gone. I am so happyw00t. Nowadays, I am more careful. I will focus when I am ironing, no more watch tv or chit chatting! [Iriene88]

haha oh no!I've never actually burned the clothes before but one time, I accidentally set the temperature on the iron too high, and ended up melting my microfibre skirt haha... mum was so angry.. And another time when I was ironing my school uniform, my sister jumped in and scared me, so i dropped it on my foot. I still have the scars to prove it! [jessh_]

haha...so far, i have never experienced burning my clothes or even my husband's clothes! i am very careful with this thing... yes coz as you know, he just have few clothes! haha just kidding! i don't burn clothes even accidentally coz the iron that i am using is an automatic one, and if i feel that its too hot, i don't put it directly to the clothes...when i am ironing clothes with delicate fabric, i put it under another fabric...something like that... i really have to be careful with his clothes specially to those clothes that he uses in his duty...you know...wink so next time be careful my friend, pay attention while ironing...happy [ckyera]

Only once I burnt one of my clothes. It was not burnt out fully, but there were designs from over heat. I didn't feel mcuh for it. I am a person who feels a lot when I miss or destroy something. It was one of my old clothes and spoling it didn't make a big difference to me. After that incident, I made it a point to arrange the heat properly before ironing. [daliaj]

i couldn't remember how many clothes i have burned while ironing. i just can't forget the slacks which i am going to use for choral presentation that have been burned by iron. unfortunately i was not able to use it and i looked for another slacks and paid the slacks that i have burned. the iron that i used was slightly defective and i never knew about it that is why i have burned my slacks. I think I have burned one of my office pants, and a blouse. LOL. I have not burned any clothes that are not mine.. ( thank goodness for that ).. though I have managed to put a big yellow stain on one of my sister's white blouse,. I was supposed to wash it, so I soaked it overnight.. but the next day, I did something else and I totally forgot about the clothes, so after 2 days, when I saw the clothes, the color of my yellow blouse already stained the other white blouse. lol. My sister was like angry for a couple of minutes, and after that she totally forgot about it. hehehe. lol [Ingkingderders]

I encounter burning my clothes when I left the iron for a long time while chatting with friends on the telephone that I forget that I left my iron on without turning it off Thus, when I smell something is burning it is then I remember i was ironing my clothes. It only happen once and the next time I iron my clothes I see to it that I never left it until i finish ironing. [neelianoscet]

My very first paid job was cleaning for my neighbor... I burned a very expensive silk shirt... He decided I needed to practice ironing before I ironed anything else important and so I ended up ironing a basket of socks... It sucked but he paid me to do it [caecal07]
dont turn the iron to a higher heat than you need to, unplug the iron any time you stop ironing, i seldom iron anything anymore, if you take things out of the dryer and put them on hangers right away, you dont need to iron so much. mostly i use the iron now when making quilted patchwork items. This is unlikely to occur on cotton garments but could happen very quickly on something nylon or silky. Lining from suits are always very easily burnt - well I burnt mine very easily put it that way. The iron would also need to be at a very high setting to burn something. alot, i was in a hurry for work one night and the vest that i wanted to wear needed to be ironed, i had left the iron on hot from the previous day and i put the iron on the vest and it put a huge hole in the front, i was gutted, because i was late for work, i had burned my vest and had to find something else to wear and get to work in like 10 minutes [puddytatt]

I never "burn" my clothes, although I usually leave white marks on them from the iron being too hot. But then again, on the cool setting..I can't seem to get the wrinkles out! So I usually just set it too high. Thankfully I actually work at a dry cleaners, so I can usually get my things ironed for free (although I'm only allowed 2 items per day). I have pretty much given up on ironing. Most of my blouses are frilly or chiffon and don't need to be ironed. My pants, jeans, and dress pants on the other hand.. Really look much better ironed. Put wet clothes in the dryer with fabric softener and let them run 5 to 10 minutes and whip them out one by one, shake them hard and hang them on hangers. Most won't need ironing. If they do put water in the iron for steam,, plug in the iron, use an irioning board, turn the iron to a moderate heat, iron one section at a time of the shirt, etc. [abode4you]

I have burned clothes only once and that wasnt definitely mine, may be my sister's hi hi. It was her blouse i think. I do not do a lot of ironing so that thing isnt bound to happen quite often. Still I am very cautious while ironing. I begin by chekcing the temperature and check it on a cotton cloth first. [malpoa]

Hi Acie, So far, I never experience burning any ironed clothes before and I hope this thing won't happen to me too. I always iron the clothes very carefully,make sure they are all tidy and neat before I keep them in the cupboard. I do ironing once a week.I did use some water spray to the clothes before ironing and it really make my ironing job more easily. I only iron my husband's pants and clothes plus my own one. So far, i have not burned any clothes while ironing.. hehe ^_^ Though i'm taught since young, but i have always been careful for i'm ironing my own uniform.. lol =D If i were to burn any of them, i wont have any uniform to wear, and have to end up being scolded by teachers.. haha =D As i grow older, i dun really iron as much because i dun have much things to iron, and my uniform for work, is just casual wear.. lol =D Even if i'm wearing for the family, i will be even more cautious for i wont wanna spoil their clothes too.. lol =D [kun2349]

HI acie.I did it once when my mom asked me to iron one of her chunnis ( a very light material cloth worn with salwar Kurta,an Indian attire).I just kept the iron on it and it burnt a little.My mom shouted at me and took the iron to herself and when she kept it it burned again.lolThat was really funny.Apart from that I dont recall anytime it happened by me.Though my brother often does that.. I haven't. I am careful when ironing my clothes. But our house helper burned some of my clothes. It was my uniform. In fact, she burned all of them, lol!... I was mad at that time.
