I don't buy clothes that often for myself. Maybe a new top or pants once each summer or winter. I guess maybe I should treat myself a little better with some new clothes a little more often. I feel like I'm always buying clothes for the kids though. They grow like weeds and nothing ever fits the next season.

I really don't buy clothes all that often. I do buy them occasionally whenever I know that I'll need them soon. I've started to buy clothes more often now since I'm in the public eye more often. I work with children and see their parents and other relatives very often. Our center is a rather large center and is in the public eye often so I need to look halfway decent to go into work each day. I've recently bought a few pairs of pants and new things like bras because I've needed those desparately. I just hate spending money on clothes sometimes. They're so expensive. I'd rather buy several dinners for home or pay off a few bills instead of buying myself several new pants or shirts. It seems like such a waste to me. [highflyingxangel]

Hi Shar19, I don't shop all that often but might buy myself a top now and again as I get vouchers for doing stuff online. I rarely have any spare cash to go on a shopping spree and bills/food/kids needs are always put first, hubby and I buy for us when we can. Besides, the kids are growing and need new stuff once or twice a year at least (we do a big shop for them then). I haven't done a decent shop in about three years, shock, horror! I have 340 worth of A/Wear vouchers and am going to go on a very big shopping spree most likely after christmas when the sales begin. Can't wait! [fmpisces]

I do not buy clothes for my self very often and i hate paying those high prices for them. If i cant find something that i need at a good discount price. I go to the second hand stores, or the flea market, or at garage sales....I can always find something their. When my kids were young, I seemed to never shop for me. I do a little better now, but most of the time refuse to purchase anything that is not reduced or on clearance. I go about every three months and spend around $50. Usually at Wal Mart. I am more likely to buy good work shoes, and that will be around $60 a shopping trip. [GardenGerty]

Not too often; The last item I bought was a dress I bought to wear to church around August that I saw in Belk's. It was something to look nice in coming to church and that was the last item I bought for myself. Week before I bought a couple pairs of underwear that I could truly use. I also put some clothes in the dry clean as well. There are too mnay other needs out there beside me worrying about a dress and so on. [Savvynlady]

I probably go shopping for myself at least once a week. It's pretty sick, but at least HALF of my paychecks usually go to clothes. I love clothes, handbags, and the like. It's a passion of mine, I guess you could almost say. So I make sure to at least go mini-shopping at least once a week. Besides that, shopping is definitely RETAIL THERAPY for me - when I'm stressed with school or work - finding a cute top always cheers me up. I also LOVE buying cute clothes for my little 7-year-old sister; she has about a million pairs of jeans and cute tops thanks to me. So I'm not 100% selfish. LOL. I love clothes and I think the past years I've really overspent for my clothes. I'd buy new clothes every pay day and somehow as I saw my overloaded dressers, I realized I should not do this. Now I am gone wiser. I only buy clothes during special occasions like Christmas, birthday, and other important parties I really have to look good. Even I dont buy clothes that often. During the indian festival of Depavali, I used to buy around 5 to 6 sets of dress for myslef and that is the only time in the year where I used to get dress for myself. I am single till date and I dont have problems of buying a proper dress for my kids and other stuffs. Like you, I buy mostly clothes for the kids who seem to be outgrowing everything in 3 months. This also goes for the shoes. My daughter who is 12 wears the same shoe and clothes size as me. Maybe, when the clothes are out of fashion, I will get her hand me downs as I don't buy that often clothes for myself. I very rarely buy my self clothing. I have shirts from my senior year in high school. It's not that I don't like to shop for clothes, because I really enjoy it, I just always find something else I want to spend my money on other than clothes. Hello shar19 I do not go shopping as some people do.What I mean is I do not go just to buy a single piece or two.What I do is wait for sometime and buy clothes that will be enough for a year or more,as I do not change my clothes with these so called "Fashion". I will go to different shops and check on the prices and the quality.And I always try to buy clothes of good quality although it is expensive and I will buy 15 to 20 pieces.Buying clothes this way is very satisfying for me as I will not be going do shopping so often and lot of my time is saved.And most of all I will bargain for a good discount and that saves me some money.This way may be a bit odd but it works me very well.
